I would take it as a promising sign for the 2026 prospects and beyond, especially since he was already signed up till the end of 2026. If he feels there's a good chance McLaren will be front running long term, why would he leave? Look at Daniel Ricciardo, we can now all agree that leaving Red Bull was the worst decision of his career, even though he made a lot of money. I'm happy that Oscar, like Lando has bought into the project.TeamKoolGreen wrote: ↑12 Mar 2025, 00:36I am really surprised that Piastri signed with term. Lando has been holding his own there. And there could be opportunities at the other big teams. Will Lawson and Antonelli work out ? Who knows. Will hamilton finish his contract or retire mid season ? I could see him retiring.
And incredibly windy, looks like tropical weather, heavy showers, thunder and wind.McLarenMor wrote: ↑12 Mar 2025, 11:42Given current weather forecast let's hope we will get to see a proper race.
Seems very rainy on Sunday right around race start time.
I think that is a bit of an exaggeration. Winds of 15 to 20 mph & showers is what the Australian meteorological office have forcast.mwillems wrote: ↑12 Mar 2025, 13:25And incredibly windy, looks like tropical weather, heavy showers, thunder and wind.McLarenMor wrote: ↑12 Mar 2025, 11:42Given current weather forecast let's hope we will get to see a proper race.

Yeah that may have been dramatic but it's windy enough to make trees sway so it'll bother the cars but it is predicting thunderstorms, which if true won't be light rain.the EDGE wrote: ↑12 Mar 2025, 15:21I think that is a bit of an exaggeration. It'd test the rear too. You need mechanical grip and tyres suitably warmed at front and rear. It would be an interesting test indeed. Baptism of fire almost lolthe EDGE wrote: ↑12 Mar 2025, 19:48the odd sun umbrella, or dustbin lid blowing across the track. We’ll see, summertime weather can be very unpredictable, it could rain before and after the race and not at all during it.
It will be very interesting to see how this year‘s crop of cars handle the wet weather, especially in the heat.
Sounds like McLaren have a very solid front end, that could pan out very well in the wet
I don’t think the MCL 38 excelled in that sort of weather, but I remember the 37 being pretty handy if my memory serves me well
