controversy of mini DRS rear wing is likely to pop up again. Mclaren rear looks like its designed for that purpose.
From the picture you get that?
Look similar to the wings they used in 2024. Perhaps the intend is to test how far they can push the limit before they need to dial back a little

The view through that gap underneath the outer ends of top flap seems to be giving many a confusing assessment. Unsure if that's checked the same as very specific dimensions for DRS flap open & closed position, which are significantly focused apon for scrutiny by technical delegates.

As the conjecture in other threads shows, that corner gap doesn't seem to change under load, BUT the view to us observers does according to how it aligns with any camera used to record it. More oblique view and it looks smaller, straight on view through it , and it LOOKS larger, without any change happening.

It doesn't appear to be contentious in any way.

I'm not sure Mclaren are daft enough to try it again, after having to change all rear wings.

Unless the wild hype after testing, which i don't think showed anything, got people believing what they want to believe again.

After recent years, I won't believe Red Bull are anything but favourite.

I’d imagine if there is any type of flexi wing or mini DRS then there will be protests galore going on

Using the available data... Doesn't mean it is correct, that's why they call it a prediction

In terms of raw pace in the wet - Lando is quite good, he just makes mistakes which lose him time. If the McLaren is a rocket ship these mistakes won't matter as much (or won't happen due to less pressure) and it'll still be a fairly simple win.

Unless your stating, organic, that the red bull could be faster in wet conditions?

WOW!!! These pictures are awesome Luscion...well done!!!

Those rear wing endplates look like they can easily be swopped out with differing bits for optimal performance per track characteristics and expected local weather …..based on the, lack of better term, quick release rivets. Could one of you gearheads tell me what those rivets are actually called in F1 translation speak

Ferrari went with the biggest or my eyes deceiving me?
Yeah....maybe it's because the other 3 teams wings have concave curves vs Ferrari's more flatter wing which makes it look bigger. Surely Ferrari has other rear wings in their inventory as well with concave curve as well.

At least last year, Mclaren easily had the widest working window for their car, which is usually something that comes in very handy in wet conditions(especially changeable ones). And Lando has indeed been quite good in the wet himself. Even in Brazil, he seemed like was probably the fastest guy out there til strategy got him shuffled backwards and then Verstappen took off and did his thing.
