Great job by the boys.

No issues with the rear.

Well I never expected that last blistering lap. What changed between Q1,Q2 that we had less than a tenth margin and Q3 to have such a huge margin?

It was all looking very close, and then sector 3 happens.

What McLaren has been doing in sector 3 is crazy!
Q: (Stefano Mancini – La Stampa) Kimi, will you help Vettel to win his championship this year?
Kimi Raikkonen: I can only drive one car, obviously.

I did say yesterday the car looks crazy in the slow medium corners, I guess that has come to fruition...
with the rain anything is possible, need a clean start from both boys tomorrow

Our speed through and then exits from the slower corners were mighty, hence we got a lot of time at the end of the lap. In a drag race from a slow corner, no one compares. We appear to enter the slow corners slightly earlier than others too, likely because the nose allows us to do that without scrubbing as much speed.

Also, it could well be that it was cooling and that we can keep the tyres alive for a whole lap, Max was suggesting that when he pushed his tyres were going at the end.

Top speeds are still down on the fastest laps. Max's top speed on his fastest lap was 334, George 332 and Norris 329.

Max looks slightly faster in the High speeds here.

As I mentioned in Bahrain, the slower corners where what separated the McLaren from the rest over the race runs.

Mclaren has a mighty nose and a very strong rear

Fantastic start, I fear there could be a few safety cars tomorrow, let's hope we can navigate them successfully.

It'll be another different test for this car tomorrow. A standing start in the wet. It looks to be forecasting heavy showers at around the race start so both drivers will need their wits about them, and I'm hoping that if it is a wet start, that the Papaya rules are tightened and no silliness at turn 1. Save it till there's a gap behind, if we retain our pace in the rain.

Woah!! Just woah!
Just watched quali, when they both duffed up their first runs I thought ‘oh no, not again- not this again, the critics will be sharpening their teeth now!’
But boy did they both deliver!

I wonder if it would have been possible to be EVEN FASTER on that second run if they had a banker lap on the board  -after listening to the driver- yes
Just a fan's point of view
