Well, apparently the FIA has given McLaren permission to splash a little water on their tyres.

All these weird allegations have done an excellent job of making us forget about the initial asymmetric braking scandal that accompanied a certain teams car performance suddenly changing from godly to mostly good.

I think that was shut down too wasn't it. Ted Kravits went around the paddock and asked around the paddock if it was RBR they all said no. I think it was even I think Andy Cowell that said directly in an internview it wasn't RBR and rather they just went down a bad development path. The teams tend to know what each other are upto and know the paddock secrets that they all seemed to say no I think it more telling than anything

Gunther Steiner also said it would show up immediately in the telemetry. And several members here with hydraulic suspension knowledge have also said it would be nearly impossible to implement a passive system capable of producing enough pressure.

That was also one of those 'weird allegations', and already essentially debunked as others have pointed out. RB's relative performance drop is entirely explainable without any conspiracy theory necessary, but people have a hard time letting conspiracy theories go when it's something somebody just really wants to believe.

The other part I kinda though was telling was there was no paddock chatter about it that I am aware of, No rivals accusations that etc. Or visual queues, flexi wings, Red Bulls rear wing stalling, Mercs dual axis steering, Ferrari engine trickery/ and so on they didn't appear out of nowhere like this did.

Probably a nothingburger in hindsight. Essentially impossible to disprove/prove. Red bull fishing for reasons they got slower but it was due to the rb20 rather than opposition

Yep. I in the end put it down to the Red Bull tray accusation was Mclaren putting heat on Red Bull. I just see it as political /PR games. The slight opening I have (and from both sides) is a very slight change it paddock rumors are more likely to have some truth to them than some random internet conspiracy. Engineers changing teams, probably all the extra data etc they have. But F1 wouldn't be F1 without the PR games to put pressure on opposition teams

FIA just needs to weigh the tires before race to determine whether they’re overweight….why risk penalties?
Unless there’s no rule against water in tires or tires relevant range weight is compromised.

Instead of water they should use calcium chloride; works in tractor tires!

Hmmmmm…..let’s seeee…

Enzo Ferrari told Ferruccio Lamborghini the following:
"You are a tractor driver, you are a farmer. You shouldn't complain driving my cars because they're the best cars in the world." 😂

So, I did a quick check on hydrates used in paint that release water molecules when it's heated.
I found copper(II) sulfate pentahydrate.
When heated, it loses its water molecules and turns into anhydrous copper(II) sulfate (CuSO₄), which is white.
Are there any experts that know a bit more? Would this produce a vapour inside the tyres?
Always find the gap then use it.

As a pharmaceutical chemist, I can confirm, yes if the a hydrate turns into an anhydrate (loses its water), it will result in water vapor in the tire.
