I think there are two interesting points:
- Niels Wittich, former race director, said that the needed behavior is, that they have to slide in at the pit exit light. He also said that someone (maybe Lec, he was not sure) got a penalty for such an infringement. I could not find this example so far.
- Verstappen quite clearly missed the pit stop location. So the slow stop was his fault, not the team.
Driver is perfect on the marks. Right rear tire was delayed. Team explained that reserve pit crew was simply slow.
In the video he is well over the front marks.AR3-GP wrote: ↑09 Apr 2025, 09:45Driver is perfect on the marks. Right rear tire was delayed. Team explained that reserve pit crew was simply slow.

There is a clear image of the rear tire in the rear marks, which by extension means the front tire is in the front marks. Whatever you have seen in the t-cam is an illusion due to poor perspective.basti313 wrote: ↑09 Apr 2025, 10:08In the video he is well over the front marks.AR3-GP wrote: ↑09 Apr 2025, 09:45Driver is perfect on the marks. Yes because last year the tires were always hot immediately to the point that the outlap became about keeping the tire cool instead of warming them.
It's interesting because so many things CAN change in affecting this.AR3-GP wrote: ↑09 Apr 2025, 10:30How come in 2023 they always had cold tires that were slow to go to temperature , and in 2024 and 2025 they always have tire overheating? What is the technical change that occurred and why can it not be reverted?
In 2023, each weekend GP would tell Max about the tires being cool and then a few laps into the race tell him when the tires were “ready”. From the very first weekend in 2024 this never happened again. In fact, Max had been reporting that the tires were already too hot often halfway through the outlap! This kind of message was reported in so many free practice sessions.
How is such a change possible? What changed?
