I don't know the details of parc-ferme' rules, but something like brakes, will they be allowed to be replaced/repaired (if at all it is going to solve the issue, that is) ?

As I understand it, brakes are OK and have to be observed by FIA, ensuring no other work is surreptitiously carried out.

Only like-for-like component, else pit lane start is imposed.

Remember LH in Cota with brake disc problems ? Separation I recall, when one brake disc changes friction in comparison to it's paired item on same axle as example.

Red Bull has completely changed that car after every session recently, also here, after FP2 and FP3 (as confirmed by Marko). It sometimes resulted in a massive improvement, but it's honestly also no surprise that the opposite can happen occasionally.

I personally still am more optimistic for the race. Piastri aside, I think Red Bull can do some interesting things with strategy as long as their car likes the hard tires. Indeed, with a little lower degradation and harder tires, there is hope to go beyond passing just Pierre in the race. Maybe with some luck we can get Kimi? I fully expect Leclerc to do interesting things at the start of the race.

With a full tank in the first phase of the race, H might be a challenge to get decent corner exit (delayed throttle) before the straights, which can make for a sitting duck when attacked with DRS from behind. Once fuel load has gone lower, H might suffice.

I think Red Bull should go long in first stint with the hards. I am curious to see how the hard tire works on high fuel. RB can't possibly throw away a worst case P6 today I assume.

Who is going to attack us from behind? We have a decent advantage to the midfield teams. Potentially Hamilton but then Ferrari are a few tenths quicker anyways and if he is going to pass VER, then he will do it regardless.

Since when is Verstappen making excuses? If he says the car is bad on the brakes, it is bad on the brakes.

Apart from that, it doesn't have to be mechanical if the brakes don't work, might be just a complete lack of grip. Pit lane start wouldn't make the end position better in any way, so that is completely pointless.

Then nothing is wrong with the brakes if it's a grip issue. He just had a bad day in the office.
Yuki probably prepared the tyres a little better, though he wasn't great either.
The car will come good after 10 laps or so, or when it goes on the hards.

Max keeps saying they lack tire grip or that they lack grip. This should translate to lacking a basic level of downforce compared to the others. The basic downforce level is the biggest car performance differentiator.

It is not very surprising is it? Red Bull have lacked performance relative to their immediate competitors for most types of corners around Bahrain. And that's been the case since 2022 with their car design. McLaren are just better at slow speed and medium speed by a fair margin and marginally at high speed.

To me, the biggest surprise these regulations was how McLaren went from a car that had the heart of Red Bull with extremely good high speed performance from like Spain 2023 to a car that became good everywhere else while dropping only a bit of high speed with the Miami upgrade last year. They completely changed their strengths which Red Bull have failed to do so even after having seen what McLaren have done.
