yeah let's not rush judgements, still plenty to see: sprint race, main quali with hopefully a better setup, main race
let's see tomorrow
Particular issues in T11, T12 may be due to the curbs on the apexes there. T17 really was poor but I think that is probably a corner where you give up laptime if you try to build a setup that doesn't hurt the rears too much (cope)Juzh wrote: ↑02 May 2025, 23:42telemetry vs Antonelli. Low speed T11-T15 and especially last corner T17 is atrocious

i think its because the RW doesn't 'bend down' enough like the others in the straights. THis is going to reamain the same after barcelona even (as the 'delayed' TD doesn't address this) , and will be a characteristic till end of 2025. Redbull can say bye bye to Spa and Monza , unless they do something about this.
They can make improvements in that area, but Red Bull have a larger rear wing this weekend. It's unmistakable.venkyhere wrote: ↑02 May 2025, 23:56i think its because the RW doesn't 'bend down' enough like the others in the straights. Replaying Max's T17 on the final lap, there's nothing "wrong". It may have just been too conservative. Drivers have to judge how much grip they think they will have before they choose the braking point. There is no lockup, no understeer and no wheel spin. Perhaps he is not used to having tires that still work at the end of the lapvenkyhere wrote: ↑02 May 2025, 23:41I dont care for the sprint, the fact that Max did two Q runs on a single set of C5 tyres in 45 degree track temp, shows that the whatever 'updates' have been done, have massively improved tyre life. I hope they don't bother about hte sprint and not fall into the trap of taking out a bit of RW to improve the straights. This car can be on pole in the real Q on Saturday, and then enjoy clean air to run to victory in the race. It all depends on what 'changes' between now and Q session. The actual thing that needs 'work' is the T17 final corner. Mercedes might win the sprint but have to raise the car for the race and will be behind McL and RBR on Sunday.
Problem is they've never had a smaller rear wing than this one and its equivalent predecessors, they just used the cheapskate cut-out BS. If they don't have a proper low DF wing for Spa, Monza, Baku, Vegas, you can kiss bye bye to any hopes of a championship because they are not competing at those circuits with what they have now.AR3-GP wrote: ↑02 May 2025, 23:58They can make improvements in that area, but Red Bull have a larger rear wing this weekend. Thank you! Telemetry is available live during sessions as well, just a bit lower quality and takes quite a bit longer to process. Now data has been parsed completely, so that T17 turned out to be an artifact of the low sample rate. Kimi still had a mighty last corner though, just not as amazing as it looked before.Juzh wrote: ↑02 May 2025, 23:42telemetry vs Antonelli. I’m with you, it would suggest Red Bull run more wing these days than the others. Helps them in high speed, helps with tyre degradation (Jeddah) but gives them lower top speeds and Max again said he had understeer in the low speed after sprint quali.
