So, acordding to Newey on The Race, the current iteration of the simulator y screwed and not giving useful info.

He all know Newey tends to downplay but its incredible after 1 year the simulator isnt al 80% atleast
I believe, you feed it information from CFD and the wind tunnel. So if until now that's been off, your simulations are gonna be off ?
Yes, if the input data is wrong, the simulations will be wrong.

But Newey said: "It's fair to say that some of our tools are weak. Particularly the driver-in-the-loop simulator needs a lot of work because it's not correlating at all at the moment, which is a fundamental research tool."

"Driver-in-the-loop simulator" is the problem. The simulator’s current state is not correlating with actual performance and needs significant improvement. So, the issue isn’t just with the data input, but with the simulator’s overall functionality, which affects how well the car’s performance is predicted. Which means even with good data, it might not be able to give any useful feedback on how the car will perform

Is not their fault I guess. I mean Newey know things because of Redbull that's why he knows such a things. Same reason why Ferrari don't allow to work Cardile.

It just came online last year and he says it's 2 year project. Aston Martin recently signed Dani Juncadella as a simulator driver.

Haha, so much about the AMR "insider" twitter accounts, who wrote at the end of last year (once the sim was online) everytime something was not completely --- "IT IS BECAUSE OF THE NEW SIM"...

Wouldn't it be more on Whitmarsh and Krack to have ensured the tools were working properly?

End of the day though, Fallows came from roughly 15 years at Red Bull and I think McCullough came from Mercedes. They didn't just drop out of the sky.

Did you read that Newey said it takes 2 years to set it up ? It's been just over 6 months that they have it online.

I like what Sainz said on the new two stop requirement at Monaco.... "There is an element of lottery that Monaco can always offer. This year that element is going to be a bit bigger.

This Newey interview coincides with the comment I made yesterday about Drugovich going to the simulator on Fridays (which didn't happen until a few weeks ago). They may be looking to use someone who has already driven the AMR25 (or who has more experience with previous AMR2x cars) to understand the correlation with FP1 a little better. :-k

Of course they left stroll to the last seconds so he got his lap ruined by Antonelli... Will start P20 after the penalty... Thankfully Alonso was a bit earlier.

I was sweating. Can't keep going out this late when in the drop zone at this track.

If a bunch of cars don't pit on lap 1 ahead of Stroll, Stroll should pit himself.

Yeah pitting at the end of lap1 is a no brainer if you start last

He was already 1,5 tenths behind ALO after S1, Q2 would have been hard anyway with everyone doing the lap. He pitted too late for the 2nd set in my opinion.

Yeah, Stroll got caught out by the Ant yellow flag. Leave Alonso alone in the race.
