This race will get interesting if we dont get safetycars, vscs and red flags. I think the name of the game is to stay out as long as you can and stop when there is some sort of neutralization. You can't pass those up to change tires. I'm sure some people will take early tires just to roll the dice, but the track position loss will kill you is my take.

Car is the same as last year. Decent in S1 and S3, useless in S2. But that's in quali, in race pace I still think the car can be good. Whether they will get to use that pace is a different question. I'm expecting a penalty for Hamilton, so Max will likely move up to P4.

I think the car is better than last year. They just don't work on the C6 and the C6 was not used last year. He would have been much closer if everyone qualified on C5.

Car is the same as last year... in Monaco. It has the exact same strengths and weaknesses sector by sector. Good in S1 when the tyre is alive, strong through Massenet (though McLaren has clearly improved massively there compared to 2024), absolutely terrible in the slow and twisty bits of S2 where it's all front grip, and then okay but not great in the final sector depending on the condition of the tyre. Oh, and the car still bounces like a kangaroo in slow corners on quali runs.

I still disagree. The car was jumping like a kangaroo last year. Their pace on the medium tire was competitive, just as it was in Imola. The C6 is where it all came undone.

Max's best FP3 run on the medium with more fuel, (1.11.2) was quicker than Leclerc's Q2 run on the medium (1.11.3). The soft (C6) is where they lost all competitiveness imo. Even through free practice you could see when everyone was on the medium that Max arguably had the best pace.

I wish Pirelli would let the teams choose the tire compounds again.

3 place grid drop for Hamilton. Max starts P4 on inside line.

Being on the back of Piastri makes things A LOT more interesting strategically. Leaders shouldn't be running away from P4.
