2025 Oracle Red Bull Racing F1 Team

It's hard to predict if the results would have been better or worse. The car would be different and the team's culture would be less toxic. Maybe if the lead driver was less talented, but more all rounded with team culture etc, the team would be more motivated and the car would have been a Mcl38 or 39. Since people think Oscar and Lando are not special drivers. But hey they're doing the job in the office with their coworkers to produce the best car.
Nonetheless, Max is Red Bull now. He needs them and they need him. A reset with the 2026 car with a more easy to understand car philosophy will reset everything and reduce the symbiosis with one driver, and bring back more motivation to the team.

Red bull trying to get arvid a SL exemption. Maybe a stint replacing Lawson this season? Or they just want him to be available for reserve driver duties?

Yes I can. Red Bull is extremely fortunate to have Verstappen, because without him, the team’s performance would drop straight into midfield territory. That’s not an insult to the team, it’s a reality check.

While I think this is an extreme view for F1 Technical, it has some merit. Suppose Verstappen were injured in preseason testing like Jorge Martin in MotoGP? Or just in the off season like many others before.

The car would be exactly as it is now, driven by Tsunoda and .... Lawson? They could realistically be dead last in the WCC after Hulk's 5th in Spain.

That's a genuine reality check.

Connecting to your last point. I think team should install all available engine parts to Max's car at the next available occasion. If there really will be a race ban, then they could add an additional unit and use that race to serve the penalty.

This only works if the parts used in the "race ban" race are the ones that take him over the allocation limit. Is he that close to the limit already? Considering several penalty points drop off in two races time you would have to fit parts in Canada to get him to the limit, if possible, and then assume he gets a penalty point in Canada so that you can go over the limit while he serves his race ban in Austria (Red Bull's home race).

So Max is already at his last unit for ES and CE.
And could get to the last one in next race for TC and MGU-H.

edit: I also assumed that Max wouldn't necessarily collect a penalty point right in Canada. So they might have several races to get to the last unit for ICE and MGU-K as well.

yeah, but as mentioned above, there's no need to. If there needs to be a replacement, they could just bring in a new unit on Friday, Saturday and Sunday that weekend to get to the same result.

Lando was over 60 points behind last year and there was still some hope up to the last 3 races or so i think.
If i were Mercedes, I would frustrate Max into another penalty point. That would allow Russell to catch up a little more.
So Red Bull really need to get it through Max's head that he needs to keep his emotions under control if he has to race the others wheel to wheel.

Except that Lando last year had the faster car for 2 thirds of the season to try to close the gap Max had opened in the first third. This year they have a dominant car from the start and only some cold races and inconsistency from the drivers made it look closer than what it is. But let's not fool our(your)selves, there's no title fight, we are entering the "hot leg" of the championship, by the end of the summer Max will be like 100 points behind, and everyone will switch 100% on 2026 projects.
