Weather looks nice.

Race runs were spotty. Good lap, bad lap…back off lap, good lap, bad lap, back off lap. Messy. Other teams seem to have a better handle of things.

Leclerc has bounced back from these sorts of situations on many occasions. He is rarely all that tarnished in ultimate performance from lack of practice running.

Yeah he hasn't crashed in a race proper in a long time, but he's crashed quite a few times in FPs... it hasn't affected him much though.

It's a real shame he missed FP2 but it looks like Ham got some good runs and feedback in so that's nice.

Doesn't seem like Ferrari will be challenging for a podium this weekend though unless one of the drivers makes a big step forward tomorrow. Leclerc was solid too in FP1 for the time he ran but it's impossible to tell if that would've lasted.

What a washed up joke of a driver crashing in fp1 with no pressure. This then made him miss fp2 like a rookie.

Is what would have been said by a few people if it was Hamilton. The reality is this car is actually an embarrassment to a team with the most resources on the grid.

How many times Max crashed till he got the best car? How many times McLaren drivers crashed till they got the best car?
Fact is, driver push to understand the limit of the car & these mistakes will pop up.

Another ugly divorce, Ferrari will never succeed with this insane environment within the company, stability is needed.

They need to reconsider, whoever they are, and let Fred stay another year.
P2 in the championship with a handicapped car. Race operations seems good. Good pitstops good strategy. They just need the car.

We know the drivers want Vasseur to stay. I'd even say that if Vasseur left it's likely both drivers would leave (or in Hamilton's case retire to an ambassador role.) If they fire Vasseur knowing it's against what the drivers want and it might even be a catalyst for them leaving, you have to wonder do they even care about this team? Or do they just want a TP that will protect them and plug the Ferrari brand?

Look at Williams and their progress, Vowles and Williams didn't give up on the vision of their team because of one bad year. Why can't the people at the top of Ferrari just accept that they need to have a plan and stick with it through thick and thin instead of just abandoning it after one disappointing year? What's even the point wasting money on a halfhearted operation?

Imo, Fred is to nice to lead a team like Ferrari, and as I said a long time ago, the position at Ferrari is over his head. A Ron Dennis or Luca de Montezemolo type would do a world of good for the team. Stronger leadership that is intimidating and demanding just by standing in the pit. You never get that kind of presence from Fred.

Bring Alonso back. he would drag this car into contender for WCC/WDC. like 2010 and 12.

Luca was not all that great from memory as team principal. Great for Ferrari leadership, motorsport and cars but Todt was prinical in the succesful days in terms of strike rate.
Luca's strike rate would actually support give Fred more time to get success.

Alonso is done. He's been there done that both ferrari and mclaren and even alpine.
Ferrari's problems are not drivers. It's the culture and what it identifies itself as. Some core changes need to take place along with a new DNA.

It's funny the perception of Vasseur is that he's too jovial because by all of AR's accounts, Vasseur is a no nonsense and serious person; according to them that's part of why he gets along well with Leclerc and Hamilton, who tend to be a bit emotional.

I don’t think Vassuer has what it takes to get Ferrari back to winning championships. He came from a back marker team and I think he is a perfect fit for that kind of operation, but not something like Ferrari where the expectations are completely different. The drivers love him, that has been the case ever since he was in the junior series and that’s really great but it’s not enough.

Someone like Newey might’ve been able to put together a good operation.. maybe, but really bringing Ferrari back to the top so probably the hardest job in F1 currently.
