Pace just isn't there. Especially S3.

Max is using a second set of soft, that means that he'll enter quali with:
- 2 H
- 2 M
- 3 S

so one lap on M in Q3 I guess.
I think Q1 will be on M and Q2 and Q3 together will consume the 3 S.

Pretty strange though. You'd expect if the brakes were fixed, and a driver was even vaguely ok with the car, the driver woukd be able to bang in a reasonable if not fantastic lap at the end of FP3. The Red Bull should be mid-pack at least even given these problems, since it's a potentially race-winning car. Not last and four tenths off the next car ahead. No idea what's going on there, either the problem was not fully fixed, or Yuki is really, really lost with the weirdness that is the Red Bull car :-(

Yeah, pretty strange about Yuki. IIRC Yuki was talking about taking his own setup direction in Montreal; maybe that's what happened.....

If Yuki was not allowed to pass Piastri, since it was so dangerous, why is Piastri not then penalized for driving the "unsafe" car around to the pits? They are supposed to park it if it is unsafe.

Interesting strat, no new medium for tomorrow, could bite back. At least ahead of Piastri so there's a possibility of keeping him behind and Norris also far back is very good news even though he'll climb back in the race.

This is the biggest BS penalty in recent memory.
Not penalizing the guy who refused to stop his car and penalizing the guy who wants to 'avoid' being behind the stricken car in fear of debris ?
As BS as it gets. No wonder the stewards aren't paid. Might as well pickup some random methhead tramp from under a bridge and ask him to steward a weekend.

Perhaps the strategy is to run 3 stop, like Barcelona, given the smaller pitlane loss than a typical track. An early pitstop before lap10 after starting on S.
Russel too, will be on the same plan I think.
But it's a big gamble - Piastri has the crucial M tyre with him, and could well end up being the winner.

That said, I hope Max doesn't get into a dogfight for T1-2, retaining P2 in lap1 will not be a disaster. Russel is a guy who revels in baiting Max (many times successfully) into fuse blower moments.

Could just enforce the use of pit limiter during red flags, would simplify a lot of things.

Red Bulls 336km/h speed trap vs Russell 329km/h.
Could make things easier for Max during the race.
