Shovlin confirmed that George has 1 new and 1 used. Kimi used both mediums. https://x.com/junaidsamodien_/status/19 ... 70130?s=46
IMO the key is really the start and to stay in P1 and get in clear air. I strongly believe if this happens, the issue with the new medium missing can be corrected…
As ever it'll all be down to the start. If George can get his usual good launch and cut Max off from trying to run him out at T1 as he will no doubt be thinking of doing, then he should have a good shot of keeping the lead.
Reads to me as if George had a new medium for Q3 which Kimi didn't. George only has 2 used sets of mediums for the race left as I understand it.OverheatedTurbo wrote: ↑15 Jun 2025, 00:47Shovlin confirmed that George has 1 new and 1 used. Worth noting Russell's race sims were amongst the fastest in FP2. They have a good car this weekend.Tonino wrote: ↑15 Jun 2025, 01:07Race pace. That’s all that really matters. I’d rather qualify P3 and move forward on Sunday—but it is what it is. It’s a bit disappointing; it’s hard to get truly excited about a pole when you know you’re likely to go backwards in the race.
Nevertheless, congrats to George on pole. That was a mega, mega lap
Hoping for the best, but not expecting much, better than being let down again.Matt2725 wrote: ↑15 Jun 2025, 01:08Worth noting Russell's race sims were amongst the fastest in FP2. It was toasty. But they say the temps are cool. I don’t get it.Tonino wrote: ↑15 Jun 2025, 01:36Hoping for the best, but not expecting much, better than being let down again.Matt2725 wrote: ↑15 Jun 2025, 01:08Worth noting Russell's race sims were amongst the fastest in FP2. By the way, I was curious and checked the track temperatures during FP1, FP2, and FP3: 43°C, 36°C, and 45°C respectively. I was under the impression it was much cooler than that, at least yesterday. So let’s see.
Wouldn't be shocked if Verstappen and Piastri passes George during the race and somehow the Ferrari's fly up the gridTonino wrote: ↑15 Jun 2025, 01:07Race pace. That’s all that really matters. looking at the FP2 data, there is virtually no difference (of course the caveat about enginemodes/fuelloads applies, perhaps they are all sandbagging by the same factor) :SB15 wrote: ↑15 Jun 2025, 06:38Wouldn't be shocked if Verstappen and Piastri passes George during the race and somehow the Ferrari's fly up the gridTonino wrote: ↑15 Jun 2025, 01:07Race pace. Toto was quite clear regarding the warmer temps after quali, so whoever is saying "it's cool", I suspect is coming from fans of other teams who are coping a little.OverheatedTurbo wrote: ↑15 Jun 2025, 01:46It was toasty.
