It's nice to hear that Leclerc spent a lot of time testing the floor, but I still wonder if missing FP1 on such an important weekend is smart.
He said missing FP1 in Canada didn't affect him

This is a new car so not really the same.

But also by Hamilton's comment posted above it doesn't sound like they are expecting a huge change.

No, I am not.
Read again, especially the bold text.
If you are still not convinced, read the post I made _after_
I've read everything you've said plenty carefully. If you're trying to say something different than I think, then you are simply not very good at being able to actually explain what you mean.

Seriously, specify what you are trying to say. What do you think Ferrari's specific failings are?

He isn’t likely to start talking about mass gains without any proof.

A new floor is a big deal. But evidence has shown it can be difficult.

Floor update as expected, seems they've changed a bit of everything down there. The description seems to confirm what AR was saying about more load across a bigger window :D

why they have aero rake at the end of side pod top instead like at the back of diffuser and wing?

Super start to the weekend. Hamilton has a gearbox issue; it seems he can only do one push before having to box again. He did the same thing twice. That and the push laps he has had were way off the pace. Soft run coming now.

S1 - 1 tenth
S2 - 3 tenth
S3 - 2 tenth

To Russell in P1. The S1 time is just two straights, so unlikely to be running low PU...

what a miserable fp1 for Lewis, spent the majority of it in the garage fixing a gearbox issue

Maybe, I don't think so. First call in they mentioned gearbox, second push Lewis asked could he go again and Ricky said they are monitoring and then no they needed to pit. Same on the third medium push. On the soft, there was nothing but at that point they had prob already understood they could only do one push each time. I wonder if it was a cooling issue, as it otherwise seems mad to keep running laps.

Considering that these floors won’t carry over…it’s a heck of a lot of resources that have been put into it.

Their S1 is terrible as always. .581 for Leclerc after numerous push laps, .595 for Hamilton.

Other teams S1: .299, .396, .398, .477. You get the idea...

Their S1 time is the same as the Sauber.

The setup was not good this session. Not surprising since Hamilton barely ran FP1 and there was a rookie in the other car. I said before having a rookie in on a weekend where testing matters a lot was a mistake. I hope they can find something over night.

Or are they super conservative with engine mode?
