I haven't looked at the data for Quali yet but Alonso lines looked different in FP3. They found something over night. Still is a dog in Turn 3 which is part of the that S2 where they are struggling. They're basically slow in, out and rotating the car in turn 3.

The car doesn’t have a sweet spot. It’s still a dog until it receives a proper update
Also the worst car can maximize it’s potential.

From ALOs comments through the weekend that wasn’t the case this week obviously.

Interesting. It will be fascinating to compare once the silverstone updates are applied how they have resolved this.

Points seem a little far tomorrow, at least without some issues of any car ahead.

I see Silverstone upgrades with hope... But I think that it's very difficult to achieve a MCL style bump. Trying to be objective, most probably won't change too much. But hey, at least We can dream a little!

Antonelli, Bortoleto and Gasly had slower times than Alonso's Q2 time in Q3.

Does Silverstone have a turn similar to this turn 3 ?

Interesting.

Bortoleto was fantastic today, by the way. Not enough talk about Sauber improvement. They are making a great work.

And Lawson, as much as I hate his usually stupid behaviour on track, has made it today... Ahead of VER.

lol no but either way we should be able to make a comparison in the hairpin section until we get to a circuit with a similar type of corner trajectory

I don't really see it that positive, to be honest. Alonso didn't even match Stroll's time from FP3, while basically everyone else improved.

As a team aggressive on the tires, maybe they suffered more from the rising temperatures than others, but nothing there looked any special to me.

VAN told ORF before FP3 already that they have concerns regarding race pace / tyre wear.

The big limitations won’t be solved with an update anymore. Who thinks that some Silverstone parts will change the picture will be very disappointed in my opinion.
