I see. I wonder what Piastri could have done if he wasn't screwed by that Yellow Flag.

Similar to FP2, FP3, Q1, Q2, would probably have been 1.5 tenth behind Lando and easy P2

Agreed, I think PIA whould have been 0.1 or 0.15 behind NOR if he did got a chance....but tomorrow is where the big points are, lets go for a 1-2 [-o<

Oscar wasn't screwed.

When you go nearly last you always take the risk.

But isn't the risk either rewarding or screwing? Can't we say that he was screwed as he lost from something outside his control?

Didn’t the drivers say pre event that it’ll be tight on Saturday but more comfortable on Sunday?

But if he had gone earlier he likely doesn't get impacted by the spin ( though Max did) so it was in his control when to go for his lap.

Probably P2. Don't think he would have gotten near that lap by Lando. Think he was on another level today

Ben you cannot predict when and where an accident will happen. It's a matter of luck. But I will agree that Oscar could not have managed to match Lando this weekend. He is on another level.

I don’t think that was fully his decision either. With the track ramping up all the time he would have had no chance anyway if he went much earlier than everyone else. He was simply unlucky. P2 is maximum tomorrow for him anyway if there is no safety car that he can take advantage of.

Oscar was unlucky on his second lap, but made a mistake on his first lap. But I'm sure he'll get past Charles pretty quick though I doubt his tyres will last long in dirty air.

Yea that is the minimum for tomorrow! With the race pace advantage it should be an easy 1/2 [-o<

Fully agreed!

Then it could be a great battle between the two McLaren Mercedes for the win !

well, if the McLaren is as superiour as expected, then Leclerc shouldn't suffer from dirty air much. But yeah, Piastri should normally still get past at some point during the first stint.

Maybe. With these temps, following a car could be tough on tyres and engines. Lando has clean air and probably race pace.

This year the dirty air seems bad and the cars as sensitive as ever before. The golden years of this formula are gone and its definately time for a change.
