I won't rule out anything because Newey is the one who gave engineers guidance on what to focus on for this update.

A McLaren like 2023 update some guys here mentioned. That is just totally unrealistic. Neither they have the Financial, nor the Personal ressources for the 25 car to make such a jump. Anything more than 2 tenths would be sensational, that late in the regulation circle.
Agreed, if we can find enough time to consistently leave the midfield behind and close the gap to the top teams, I would definitely take that. The team seem to be be underplaying the Silverstone upgrade, I think we're all excited as it was first revealed by Newey himself at Monaco.diffuser wrote: ↑28 Jun 2025, 19:55
It all depends on what you consider changing the picture means? For me the goal is solidifying 5th place and that requires boxes needing to be checked to get there. To me "Changing the picture" would be regular podiums, that isn't gonna happen.
They need to:
1 - Prove to themselves that they can upgrade mid season.
2 - Keep improving the tools, that is proven with successful upgrades.
really weird considering we were super quick in sector 1 in every practice session. maybe they changed something before qualyAlo_Fan wrote: ↑28 Jun 2025, 21:25https://freeimage.host/i/FR6Vc1p
Fantastic effort by Alonso especially, the car wasn't great around here as usual for us. Bit concerned as we usually qualify better than we race, really hope the Silverstone upgrade is as good as we hope for!
Alonso said they changed many things in each practice session but could not find the right balance.SSJ4 wrote: ↑28 Jun 2025, 21:51really weird considering we were super quick in sector 1 in every practice session. maybe they changed something before qualyAlo_Fan wrote: ↑28 Jun 2025, 21:25https://freeimage.host/i/FR6Vc1p

I think we should admit it clearly: the car is haunted!!!TyreSlip wrote: ↑28 Jun 2025, 22:06Alonso said they changed many things in each practice session but could not find the right balance.SSJ4 wrote: ↑28 Jun 2025, 21:51really weird considering we were super quick in sector 1 in every practice session. maybe they changed something before qualyAlo_Fan wrote: ↑28 Jun 2025, 21:25https://freeimage.host/i/FR6Vc1p

Did you watch any race this year?MB_Racer wrote: ↑28 Jun 2025, 19:46Well didn’t he scored many more points than Alonso so far this year ?
I remember him saying that before the Imola upgrade. I haven't heard that since.Otromundo wrote: ↑28 Jun 2025, 23:23I think we should admit it clearly: the car is haunted!!!
I heard Alonso say: "the car understeers in fast corners and oversteers in slow corners". With such a dilemma, I find it understandable that they haven't managed to balance it.
There's something basic and fundamental wrong... or the car is bewitched.
As I understand it, this applies to the next 6 months. So, for being 8th in the Constructors’ Championship, they should receive an additional 120 hours of wind tunnel time over the next 6 months compared to what they had in the previous 6 months.zoroastar wrote: ↑29 Jun 2025, 02:49stroll mustve been pretty pissed to be eliminated in q1. he seemed to have alonsos number all weekend, until it counted. austria does seem like a track that may show a guys age more than most. kindof on a razors edge through sector 3 at quali pace. hopefully we can get a few points with some luck.
i may be wrong but i think that whatever spot the teams are in the championship after austria will dictate their windtunnel time going into next year. solid if true
ps. i havent seen it yet, but i heard that alonso is the only driver with any lines in that new F1 movie. im not expecting much from it, but ill prolly go see it anyway haha
