that didnt read as praise, it read as insinuation - just he hasnt figured out quite what he is insinuating .. give him a day or two and there will be some new wild allegation.
Great race for the guys - Oscar should be well chuffed he was able to put Lando under such intense pressure at what is known a Lando track. It was a great result for both of them, what with Verstappen misfortune.

While I agree with the commendation of Oscar staying close.....is everyone forgetting x3 DRS zones worth 0.7 per lap. I was also impressed he kept his tyres alive following but I'm not sure this would have been the case on circuits that dont gift the guy behind such free lap time

he closed in the final stint without DRS though - he looked to have a little more race pace today to me

In Canada Lando had more luck with where he caught traffic, here Oscar had more luck with where he caught traffic.

It was truly amazing how Oscar could stay that close. I thought a couple or three laps was the maximum and then it would be race over. Thankfully they have built a car that allows some really exciting racing.

Beautiful execution by both drivers. Lando did great, but I can’t get over how impressive Piastri is. Unbelievable that this is only his third season. Will be a really tense fight at the end of this year.
Can you imagine what it would be like if Mclaren had 2 good drivers

Nor did I read it as praise but I truly believe the best measure of success is what your rivals are saying about you, so calling this one praise.
As for the allegations? I think he’s all out of ideas…. Another reason why calling it praise

It's very clear its praise, let's not be bitter like some other F1 fans. He said it was truly impressive and went on to.explain why.

That said, I was going to post about how impressive it was just as the race finished, but I didn't because I do think DRS was a big part of it.

Yeah, DRS is stupid powerful here, with around half the track length being DRS zones.

High praise indeed

They're running out of things to point at it seems. Horner's comments give the impression that they don't have any idea how McLaren have such good temp management. I have said it before, but with every race, I am getting even more convinced that this is not some trick concentrated into one part alone. They have clearly designed a very complex car and on top of being really strong aerodynamically, the mechanical side of things underneath the bodywork is probably where they are outclassing the field the most.

I hope we get some answers at some point on how exactly they managed to get such good thermal management on this car.
Mclaren have just done an awesome job =D>

We have to assume that the rivals are no nearer to understanding why the Mclaren is so good on deg too.

I agree it would nice to find out why McLaren are so good so we can appreciate engineering but I’d rather that we don’t find out so the rivals stay in the dark as well

Great result.

I've seen comments that this may be first race where real effects of flexi wing clampdown will be seen, it has all types of corners.

If that is the case, good job everyone. McLaren even stronger.

Exactly. The gap was stable until anytime Lando got near traffic (As Will voiced on the radio). Personally I dont think OP had more pace. They were close but they always are.
