First update developed in the new tunnel, with tips from Newey. My hopes are high, but let's see. Probably won't be able to fight the top 4 teams, that would be crazy, but hopefully enough to fight the other mid field teams from now on.
Well, the top 4 teams are actually 3.5 because RB only runs on Max.

If the McLs would get romantic and let their guys fight... if VER and RUS would still be such good friends, delighting the crowd with their acrobatics... and if HAM were still distracted and complacent...

And if the AMR25 finally runs as it should... It's very important for the car to be faster so it can stay with the teams in front, keeping them all in sight until the last lap.

We'll see the practice sessions; I think the expressions on their faces will tell us everything in advance.
Believe half of what you see and none of what you hear.

The Spanish Media Love Fernando so much that if you give them a little too much positivity, they pass out from the excitement ;). They're absolutely through the roof without it!

That's what my expectations are prior to the comments from Alonso, really hope these are big enough upgrades especially if they are the last ones of this season.

Newey said it: it’s a people’s sport.

Without a good/right idea from the engineers, the best wind tunnel is useless.

I am curious, but still sceptical, after all the failures, trying to update the floor.

Yesterday AMR invited journalists to their factory (like last year). At 8pm Newey was still in his office drawing, as the only one.

So AN will attend the British GP later on, right?

As already mentioned by Cowell:

update list (fia.com):

1) floor body
2) floor fences
3) floor edge
4) coke/engine cover

Looks like quite a few teams brought new floors. It's a floor fest :D

Fernando downplaying the upgrade. Saying it’s not as big as imola one. Top 8 order won’t change. Imola update performed better than expected in regards to what number it gave in the wind tunnel
Disappointing, was hoping more for the last upgrade of the year
Don’t worry Andy Cowell said the opposite no reason to stress.

I believe Alonso is just downplaying not to be to disappointed if it doesn’t won’t as expected…

It’s only natural for them to downplay as much as possible to catch rivals off guard. The fact that Newey was the one who mentioned it has me thinking we might have something as well as Alonso’s happy mood. Fingers crossed AM get this right.

I like how since Cowell and Newey have come in, our upgrades have been structured unlike 2023/2024 where we were throwing upgrades on almost every race and not having any direction or understanding with them.

Alonso 34 hundredths off Norris on the first soft run, ahead of Antonelli on softs. But the VCARBs are strangely quick so far. Lance half a second off Alonso.

Car is oversteering mid corner in low to mid-speed corners. Seems to be a little nervous in high-speed corners but nothing bad.

Not sure the update actually improved performance given how close Stroll has been this session.

They probably need some tweaks to get the setup right too. So far only ahead of Haas, Sauber and Alpine.
