It’s quite a big upgrade so wasn’t expecting too much from FP1. Hopefully the car just needs set up work since the simulator isnt ready for that detailed work yet.

Yep. If it is a good upgrade, I'm hopeful, it will get better with every session. They'll keep dialing it in more.

For sure, I wouldn't read much into FP1. I'm most interested in the race sims during FP2, lets see if tyre deg has any improvement too

Since I don't know exactly what they've been doing in each car... and it was P1...

But some things are pretty clear, anyway: the top 7 seem to have a "predetermined" owner: HAM (who's at home and has woken up); the McLs; LEC because the car isn't doing badly; VER because he's MAX even though his RB isn't exactly working; ...and RUS + ANT possibly.

The car still has nervous steering. That's what it seems, let's see if it improves by fine-tuning the setup.

It's not worth looking at the speed data now. But it will be the most important thing for me in P2.

The Williams seem to have been resurrected. First enemies to beat, at least in qualifying. HAD also seems dangerous. And it seems to be the race where everyone has new modified car bottoms.

If the car improves a little more in P2, I think the "logical" final position for ALO would be 8th, but without massive slipstreams, please. If he could start fighting between 5th and 8th place thanks to the car's speed, that would be great.

STR should finish 10th or 12th if the car has really improved.

We'll see after P2 if things continue to hold up.
Believe half of what you see and none of what you hear.

I have more faith this year and hopefully it will prove Imola update working wasn’t a fluke.

Yeah if it gives us better race pace I’m hoping that will lead to the straight line speed being resolved too.

Again, they haven't had Straight line speed problems. If you look at the data, like Max speeds from Austria. You'll see that max speed at the speed trap is middle of the pack down 1 to 2 KPH. Top speed at start finish line is bottom 25%. That means we're either slow in the corner before the start finish, late on the throttle out or both. The speed trap was at the end of the straight between turn 3 and 4. When the straight is long enough, we actually catch up(aero efficient at high speed).

It’s gonna be impossible to judge performance. Imola we were never in top 10 for practice sessions. But qualified 5th and 7th

Is Fernando running the updated car again now in FP2, or is it Stroll?
