I think the chrome livery looks great. But it would had been much better if they had dropped the papaya altogether for one GP to make it a true tribute.

They did with the Senna yellow-green tribute at Monaco last year

Seems like Ferrari are more than a threat here.

Wouldn’t surprise me if they did

Yes, Lando ran it in FP1 but then switched back for FP2.

Just for the record, McLaren seems to do this regularely, when they first bring a big test item, they run it in FP1 then take it off and only bring it back once the data has been crunched or changes made.

Seems to be their way of ensuring the quality of updates.

It is not that the update doesn't work.

Right, I don't know what's the concern here, McLaren this year have the best technical operations I've seen any team execute over the past 2 decades.
Race operations like in race strategy, driver mentoring etc etc are all subjective items with differing opinions, but as long as technical aspects of the car are concerned, McLaren has been 100/100 this year.

Mentoring needs some work as our drivers are still not perfect. Race strategy will need some boost from the new guy that will join soon and pit stops need more practise as they aren't always sub 2.5 secs. I agree with the technical aspects of the car and innovations but what did you expect. Mclaren was always a sleeping giant and needed the right team that would wake them up.

It's possible that they bring it to test when the first part is built, but won't release it until the are parts and spares for both drivers

Not sure there is a favourite here tbh, it's a complete toss up at this point. I suppose you could point to lando not being able to execute when it matters as a mark against him.

Come qualy when everyone's pushing to the maximum sector 3 might just clinch it for us as we look strong there I think

I think McLaren still have a slight edge. I wouldn't be surprised to see either of them on pole. A front row lockout is going to be tough I think, because of the tiny margins and pressure, someone is bound to make a mistake.
Q: (Stefano Mancini – La Stampa) Kimi, will you help Vettel to win his championship this year?
Kimi Raikkonen: I can only drive one car, obviously.
