I am not even sure why people keep engaging in obvious bait. the trend it so repetitive at this point that it's better to ignore the bait to be very honest. And anyone who has been on any type of fan forum is going to see the same old cyclical argument repeated over time. It's just clockwork at this point.

It's the classic case of: subtle dig, fake-objectivity, old narrative repetition, and obviously wilful ignorance to what the driver himself has to say.

Can maybe someone enlighten me ? When there is rain is it correct that the car then relies more on mechanical grip rather than downforce. And thus in that sense it doesn't make so much difference that they have a low downforce wing on the car ?

At speed when significant downforce is produced (medium/high speed corners), the downforce helps pressing the tires at the track increasing the possible speed before sliding occurs, so downforce is at a wet track still important, also to increase the tires temperatures and to contribute to a balanced car.

With wet/damp conditions I think Mclaren will easily win this. Not sure about Ferrari they seem weaker in the cold. Russel might be strong. I expect P3 or P4 for Max today.

In the rain downforce is king. It is a myth that rain is an equaliser of car performance. Driver skill becomes a bigger factor, so differences in driver skill are amplified. But still a driver with more downforce on his car will have a big benefit, and with current high downforce cars that is a bigger factor than in the past.

Huge mistake from Red Bull, giving Verstpappen low df setup, when it's alwas raining in Silverstone. He had no chance with this setup, in these conditions.
