I see Oscar saying post race he did the same thing on the previous SC restart - this probably just adds to what I said about Russell a few weeks ago part of Mercs argument was that they were going the same thing on previous laps in the same positions I tend to think you're splitting hards picking the differences between them -
I think the fact Max had to take avoiding action played a part.

We would be rightly pissed if Max did that to McLaren guys. I know everyone does it, but in the rain with spray and cold tires it's quite dangerous.

I dont care which f them wins the WDC, but i have to say i dont think he can complain too much about the penalty - what he did was a little extreme, and if thats the same as he had being doing up to that point, then he got away with it.
He should take solace in that again he probably out performed Lando at his home race, and but for a mistake would have won ... but imo, it was a mistake

This, also Oscar was pretty much in the middle of the race track.

It's an excuse. You can see the spray and you know where the car is. Considering the past I am not convinced that the stewards are not biased depending on name. I'm a fully Mclaren guy and I don't care which driver wins the WDC as long as it's a Mclaren driver but I hate when stewards decide the outcome depending on name.

And yet it was Oscar who made the mistake…..

I was quite annoyed that they were so quick to decide on the penalty, felt that they could have taken into account more, as Piastri said he was unlucky that the safety car turned off its lights just as he started to brake. If that is the case, that would be a mitigating circumstance.

But, on the other hand imagine the shitshow if Piastri finished P1 and then lost it to a stewards decision post race. That would be even worse.

So what are you claiming, British stewards wanted to give Verstappen a race win? Or are we discounting Verstappen who was managing to keep Norris behind for the first part of the race, on weak inters with a low downforce setup. Piastri's penalty was a big opportunity for Verstappen but he spun.

Did you read the report from the stewards?Piastri slowed from 218kph to 52kph, I mean you can argue, but the fact that Max passed him, which was because he had to avoid him says a lot. Lando has gotten penalties before, like the yellow flag infringement in Qatar, he didn't overtake or anything, he just didn't slow down sufficiently, and ended with a mighty 10 seconds stop-and-go penalty.

Ground Effect I did read the report of the stewards but considering their biased past I choose not to believe their excuses. If it was Max there he would not have been penalized. Oscar today was penalized with the same penalty Max got for hitting intentionally another car not to mention not knowing when to use a Safety Car. Unless they get some actual stewards that do their job I am not satisfied with their stewarding. They even managed to anger Piastri who is an iceman in terms of character.

By the way. Don't misunderstand me. I respect everyone's opinion. I just happen to have my own that's all.

Oh what a race, well done both Osc and Lando. The Oscar SC incident looked pretty bad on TV, like it deserved some penalty, but both DC and Palmer were surprised by it, so I am curious about Palmer's analysis later this week.

I don't mind Lando celebrating his dream home win, he made no mistakes and the slow stop cost him a position on VER. Weird seeing so many people that salty about it.

It was a silly mistake by Piastri, the bottom line is he did drastically reduce his speed in a race that was already in tricky conditions. Sometimes you get away with these, sometimes you don't. When you do, you breathe a sigh of relief, when you don't you take it as a learning experience.
