So Max signing/ed with Merc?
The end of RB for a while if this happens!

Other option is that they fired Horner in a last attempt to keep Max ??
That's my thoughts yes

Could be that they signed him in response to losing Max one of their last big sporting assets, or it could be last gasp attempt to keep him

I reckon Red Bull sells up to Ford.

No Newey and no titles.

I wondered the same. It's no secret that Jos doesn't like Horner.

Maybe Jos told the team "We have an offer from Mercedes, we have an offer from Aston. If you want Max to stay, Horner goes".

OTOH, I don't like Horner, but surely him leaving isn't going to make the team BETTER??

Unless he's been a stumbling block to them signing someone they wanted.

Massive news. Be interesting to see the details behind all of this in the end- it’s been a murky 18 months.

For Red Bull going forward, massive leadership change just as they take on the task of becoming en engine manufacturer - it’s an enormous job for Laurent Mekies.

Be interesting to see how the technical team react/reshuffles/moves on too after this.

Red Bull: Team Principal Christian Horner Dismissed After More Than Twenty Years

Red Bull Racing has been dismissed. Team principal and CEO Christian Horner has been dismissed from his position after more than twenty years, sources from the Milton Keynes factory – where employees were informed Wednesday morning – confirmed to De Telegraaf.
Erik van Haren

Horner (51) is being held responsible for the poor results by the management of Red Bull's parent company. After emergency consultations between Thai Chalerm Yoovidhya and Austrian Mark Mateschitz, who jointly own shares in the energy drink company, and sports director Oliver Mintzlaff, the conclusion was reached that Horner must go, despite a contract running until 2030.

Will we finally find out what happened with those texts? Will Horner spill something from team?

I find it hard to see Max staying now. I think he will sign with Mercedes. Hard to argue its not the better option medium term for him anyway

If this is the real reason, it's absolutely ridiculous IMO. Horner has led Red Bull to massive success since he was appointed, and in F1 you can't win everytime. Even more ridiculous if it's to please Max, managing an F1 team is a whole magnitude higher than finding another great driver.
