It's water under the bridge at this point, but I wonder if finding a way to keep Binotto on the technical staff without serving as TP and having to manage operational aspects, would've been an ideal outcome. Obviously Leclerc's relationship with Binotto had deteriorated and that may have made such an arrangement untenable.
Ferrari certainly has demonstrated some technical ability over the past 6-8+ years, but seem to lack a certain perspective and polish; they seem to often miss the forest for the trees in terms of development direction. Taking someone like Serra, with his experience and perspective acquired during his time at Mercedes, and putting his mind together with Binotto and those more familiar with Ferrari's technical department, may have led to some positive synergy.
