Every time Toto opens his mouth these days, he makes himself less likable. Shame.

What interview are you referring to ?

Now that everybody saying that Merc will be The Engine next season. I just can't figure out one thing; is Hamilton going to be full-goofy to jump out of the Merc, or does he know something about Ferrari '26?

Hamilton wasn't getting a 2026 drive with Mercedes regardless.

So Hamilton played a safe move so that he won't end up without a seat in a top team in '26.

The time to make any form of a comeback against the McLaren’s is this weekend. Sebastian Vettel have said that the next world champion would be Russell, while it looks unlikely now, I never stoped believing.

It'd have to be one hell of a comeback. I guess Vettel didn't quite expect how far off Merc would fall.

Good chance Russell wins it next year though by the way things sound.

The day Mercedes and the entire team manage to build a truly competitive car, it’s very likely things will turn around. The real problem is the crap, slow, and unreliable “race” cars we’ve been building year after year. They’re so inconsistent that all we can do is pray for a miracle… especially considering the upgrades we’ve seen over the past three years.

Off-topic, but as someone who’s been a F1 and Mercedes fan since 1993, I can’t even imagine what it’s like to be a Ferrari fan.

There’s so much frustration watching the clown shows on some weekends. Honestly, I’m just glad my two best friends are Ferrari fans—at this point, we just roast each other every week. Mercedes and Ferrari are both just comical to watch these days!

- George Russell says he is at “ease” with his Mercedes F1 future despite confirming that there is currently “no contract on the table” ahead of the summer break.
Russell had hoped to have his F1 future sorted before the summer break.

The former Williams driver admitted that no contract is on the table yet, but there’s “no rush” to get it signed.

To be honest, the intention was always pre-summer break because that’s just people go to summer and you want to get something sorted,” Russell concluded.

“I mean, realistically, is that going to be the case? I don’t know. There is still no contract on the table so to have something done in the space of two weeks isn’t likely and it’s got to be, it’s got to work both ways and you need to talk about the finer details and Formula One’s evolving so much now.

“You need to go through everything with a fine-toothed comb to make sure it’s all okay. But as I said, there is no rush really from my side because ultimately Toto and the team will decide what they wish to do and I will be in a position of sort of reacting to what they wish to do. So, as I said, I’m just focusing on performance and everything else will sort itself out.”

I'm literally sick of everyone rushing Mercedes for something they do traditionally, Wait until the summer break to do contracts.

I think these two races before the summer break - Spa and Hungaroring, will be when the gloves come off between RUS and VER and some fiesty on track action ensues; because of the ego hurt that RUS is going to feel to see his boss 'wait on' his arch rival's whims and fancies, while holding him off from a new contract. All these 'im cool with it' comments exactly point to the opposite, as they usually do.
Toto too must learn from the lesson that Vowles got, seeing where his diva driver is today w.r.t the incumbent driver, after getting stood up by the diva on contract-with-champagne date night. More than anything, decisions in F1 are like bets in a casino.
