Williams FW47

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Sensor package. Pressure taps from the floor are feeding into it. A rear facing thermal camera is looking through a triangular hood and aimed at the rear tire. Round multi pin connector at the front. Note this car also has deflector bulges on the diffuser like the W15 & W16.

Could it be something much simpler like a drain for rainwatter that gets throu the sidepod intakes?

It almost looks like they are bleeding air from the bottom of the radiator intake housing and injecting it into the edge of the venturi tunnels. I'm guessing that would be super illegal though.

I spy with my little eye new sidepod inlet design. The bottom of the inlet in no longer streight, but at an angle, it drops down towards the chassis. The outside is higher (compared to the N in PROTEIN) and the inside probably lower. Livery was also tweekend, as there is more bare carbon now.

I agree, it's definitely a new inlet on the sidepod. Need to wait for more pictures to see just how much it has changed.

Bigger inlet to cure the cooling issues during the races.

New sidepod inlets seen clearer here, probably also revised sidepod shape and upper part of the floor
