I have now investigated so many cars, where people question the results. And everytime, the settings or geometry are different to the official simulation, and almost always it is both. I will be a bit busy the next week, but I will run some tests. So when I am back, I might have some cool numbers on the Matteo Body.

Congratulations to JJR for producing such impressive numbers and winning despite having the balance well out of shape.

As expected, the development rate is high, producing dramatic swings in performance. That makes it exciting.

It is a bit disappointing that the 4 "old" cars (Koldskaal, G-Raph, EaJ and Swift) didn't re-run with the new settings. They would have been interesting references for everyone. And it now means we have cars running different settings in the championship. If I were Koldskaal, running for second in the standings, I'd find that a bit unfair.

Pfff, you are right. I did not think about this, it completely slipped my mind. I will have to think about what to do here.

Big congratulations to:

• JJR – third consecutive win!

• CAEdevice – a very strong second place!

• Phitec – a podium finish in only their second attempt, with massive improvement since the last race.

As for my own performance, I have mixed feelings.

On the positive side: aerodynamically, the car had podium potential. However, cooling remains its Achilles’ heel.

On the penalty:
Let me clarify the situation, with the sole purpose of ensuring transparency and identifying areas for improvement:

First of all, I fully accept the penalty – it was my responsibility to ensure that I was using the latest version of the reference geometries.
That said, this was my second violation of rule 11.3, which understandably triggered a penalty. From my perspective, however, this was a cosmetic nonconformity with no performance gain.

Here's what happened:
After the warning following Race 1, I thoroughly reviewed the rear wing endplate. The only non-compliant area I found was this specific gap:


For Race 2, this gap was corrected and the wing was deemed compliant.
There was a change to the endplates between Races 2 and 3, but not in the area in question.


I want to make it clear that I have zero intention of bending or ignoring the rules. Had I received full details of the initial nonconformity after Race 1, this situation could have been avoided.

Suggestion for improvement:
To help avoid similar issues in the future, I propose that after each race, any scrutineering concerns or violations be added to the race report folder – with full explanations and images where applicable. This would help all teams align more easily with the rules.

Gratz to top 3, impressive numbers.

Loosing the last podium place with only 0.3 is kinda sad but i expected something like that. With the new settings and the continued development i figured i needed to reach around -4 cl for having any contention to podium so that was my goal. However my last 4 or 5 simulations did not converge (turns out the culprit is setting the rake above -0.4) and i run out of time.

It's interesting to see so much variations on the floors. I'm very suprised to see the lack of leading edge strakes.

I noticed that JJR and GRaph diffusers seem to extend very much frontward and outward. Can you guys (and Andre) confirm that they're compliant with rule 12.1 "when viewed from below, fully obscure RS-FLOOR-STEP" ?

Mine definitely is.

However, you are right to raise concerns as I also don't believe the floor scrutineering is working properly (I appreciate it is a very difficult task, though).

There are a couple of raised front floors (admittedly only on backmarkers cars) that look suspiciously like they are not obscuring RS-FLOOR-STEP, which have never been flagged as illegal.

And I also know that my own floor is not fully legal in a couple of places. The flick in front of the rear tyre is a few mm outside the main floor legality box, and so is the diffuser fence to its own box.

About penalties being a bit harsh after repeated violations, I can give a bit of background: We used to be pretty lenient on these kind of things, so if a surface is visible somewhere and in the next race the same surface was visible but somewhere else, there would be long discussions about what to do. Is this a repeated violation, is it severe, ....
This took a lot of time. So at one point, we made this simple rule: You violate something twice, it results in a penalty and that is that. This was one of the greatest improvements we actually made to streamline what happens in the background during a race. At the time we also greatly simplified the rules. I think now they are still pretty good, even though last year, they were a bit better in my opinion. But the combination of this lead to super few rule violations every race.
So I am afraid to say, there is now way we can go back to this older system. This system seems to have made the teams check their cars too well after receiving a penalty.

But we did have images of rule violation in the past. While this did take time, I want it back myself. This time, I created them straight out of the Blender model and did not feel like it cost me a ton of time. So I will pretty sure bring them back to being part of the race report.

And regarding the floor issue. I will have to wait until I can see my wonderful workstation again. But I will look into it.
You guys pointing out what is exactly in doubt with some images in the meantime will help me a lot.

My doubt is that when you place "MAND_RS_Floor_step_V01" within some people's car to check if they're legal, it remains visible from below, contravening rule 12.1. Sorry, it's hard to depict it visually.

Needless to say that we're talking about floor and diffuser, critical parts of the car.
Moreover, there might be other important illegalities that slipped through the check.

If important breeches have indeed occurred, the implications on previous race results and championship standings may be huge.
