Wow, huge margin. Commentators suggesting Lando was too aggressive on the out lap.
I'm reading he was aggressive to try and deny Verstappen a tow, did anyone see anything that lends credence to that?

Mighty lap by Oscar, hoping for a 1-2 tomorrow.
Yes read from multiple sources that he ran a faster outlap than he would have liked. But not seen any comments from him yet
He's commented that he needs to look at it, but suggested that it may or may not have been too fast.

According to Mark part of Landos out lap was 6 seconds faster than Oscar and 7 seconds faster Max

OK that's clear. Now the question is whether that impacted him or not and how much? He's been several tenths behind Oscar all day. I still think he has a different setup and will move to Oscar's setup for main quali depending on tire wear

Thanks.

It will likely have contributed, but I think ultimately Lando was slower than Oscar who tends to perform better on faster circuits.

Feels like Lando cost himself second, but it is only sprint.

Yea Lando should have been second but who knows- Oscar might migrate to Lando’s set up for the main events if Lando has better tyre wear and wins the Sprint.

That was a brutal lap by Piastri.

Lando was slower than Piastri all day long. Maybe it was the lap prep but I think this track just suits Piastri better.

I suspect the gap was still a decent size, even with weaker prep.

Lando isnt daft, he'd have had his foot down on the straight and not the corners.

Piastri stamped out a great lap, but it wont matter a ton tomorrow if Norris can follow him closely out of La Source.

If Lando can compromise Verstappen at Le Source at the start it may give Oscar the chance to stretch the legs and minimise the tow on the Kemmel Straight. A lot of scenarios including temperature and weather though. But Oscar just looked in beast mode all day.

It'll be interesting to see the race pace gap. I feel that Lando is still going to drop off, particularly if he doesnt get past Max quickly.

I cant see what they did with the DRS zones this year but last year they started 75m later on the Kemmel straight and made overtaking hard.

At the moment I'm assuming it will still be hard.

So, did Lando make a mistake or is he just slower than his teammate? His top speed is the worst, his cornering speed is lower than Oscar's. I can't understand why he loses so much.

Trust, feel and confidence. He already said that he doesn't have the feeling like last years car and this one is more 'numb' which hurts his driving style. You can't push to the max if you don't feel the car is there and that breaks your confidence everywhere.

Just yesterday I read that Lando said that he already feels the car well and the latest changes to the chassis have made it better for him.
