This forum contains threads to discuss teams themselves. Anything not technical about the cars, including restructuring, performances etc belongs here.
Oof, Leclerc was definitely not happy. The fact that Lando overtook Charles at the end of the kemmel straight, and manage to pull a >1s gap to break free from the DRS in the remaining 80% of the lap is quite something. Perhaps the sprint format forced them to experiment a bit with the setup to test the new suspension, but this was not a good sprint race in any way.
Are you sure? On the team they mentioned a brake issue. Is there any report regarding the problem? Last time this happened to Hamilton was back in 2014 and it was an issue on the car.
I'm not sure, I've read it somewhere and now I cannot find it. Could also be something with the car as it is pretty unusual.
For me Lewis was really the GOAT, even though I didn’t like him and more of a Schumacher fan Lewis looked like he didn’t need al the tricks and just was really quick.
By now I’m starting to think he may should have retired end of last year, unbelievable in what form he is
i see we're back to lewis is old and he should retire after a bad weekend, after outqualifying leclerc twice and being less than a tenth away in the last 3 weekends
Weak performance again from Hamilton. They must realize together with Ferrari that he won't be better after 40 years old already. He will be just worse. I would rather see Bearman or Bortoleto, or someone else in this team.
I said it at the time it was announced and I'll say it again, Ferrari were stupid in hiring Hamilton!
I am of course talking about what Hamilton was likely to offer Ferrari F1 not what the hiring would offer Ferrari the brand in marketing.
I think that while Hamilton is still capable on his day when things align, way to many people still think of Hamilton as the 7 times champion Hamilton, he has not been that Hamilton for the best part of 3 plus years now and it was clear to see long before the Hamilton Ferrari announcement, when he does have what some consider a good weekend it's mostly a one off.
I personally didn't see him offering anything more than what Sainz did though it should be said that I was not a Sainz fan so was glad to see him go because of some of his antics.
The whole Hamilton signing has done nothing more (marketing aside) than shine a big spot light on Ferrari, a Ferrari who already had a much bigger spot light on them that their competitors and something they could have well done without!
With all due respect: he’s a 7 time world champion but far away from his team mate. Leclerc is a great driver but from Lewis I expected to be closer
Lewis dropped the average quali gap to Leclerc from over 0.25secs down to 0.161 before this weekend and outqualified him twice in 3 weekends, was it a bad mistake from lewis? yes but it was marginal track limits over a blind corner. Seems like people are just waiting on a reason to say lewis should retire or Ferrari shouldnt have hired him. He also has the best average finishing position so far of everyone other than the macca drivers
amazing freaking effort from charles... amazing.. it was a great lap to watch from onboard, I was litterly holding my breath i can't imagine what it was for drivers..
