alonso saying the new front wing gave them more downforce and he used it for the sprint qualy. we will see if they use it tomorrow

What I understood was that he used the new wing if FP1 and it gives more DF. He said that he and stroll have different configurations(different floors at the min) and they'll look at the data after the Sprint Race to see which config to use for Quali/Race. He seemed to suggest that he and stroll used the new Front Wing in the sprint quali. It wasn't 100% clear.

They race the same floor spec, just different FWs.
But amazing how bad this team always is on sprint weeks. They barely get it right setup wise. But would not rule out a more normal picture after some changes for Q. Their simulation tools must be really bad.

Well Astons are fast in a straight line and fast in corners compared to the middle field. Stroll setup looks better but rain tomorrow so will see.

Not sure why but they both ran the old shorter sidepods. With regards to the floor, can't confirm that from pictures... If you say they're the same... Ok, Makes you wonder what is different then cause they did say they're running different setups. It looked like Lance's setup was faster.

First run on softs where Alonso didn't set a time was on used softs.

So far they seem to be down several KPH going into turn 5, so they seemed to have changed their setup for wet race.

Shouldn't they be quick in Sector 2 in that case. And they weren't quick in Sector1 also. Don't know what they setup the car for.
