What makes you say that?
The car is terrible in the rain unfortunately. It snaps all the time, increasing the likelihood of a mistake massively.
bold text : we have been hearing these phrases since 2022. The 'return of the mojo' seems more and more elusive. 4 seasons with ground-effect cars that need sensitive 'dive' management (to maintain reasonable consistency in the way the tunnel is formed between the floor and the road) under braking, and Lewis still wants to brake-super-hard-very-late-with-steering-input into all kinds of corners.Emag wrote: ↑26 Jul 2025, 19:34I think this season should not be used to judge Lewis' performance. If it continues like this next season then perhaps Lewis will be the one to just pull the plug and end his legendary career.
I would say it's still somewhat disappointing, but given the circumstances, it's really not a big deal. It turned out to be a very problematic car for Ferrari and (unfortunately) Charles has had the chance to drive around a couple of problematic Ferraris in his career so it's not surprising he has managed to handle it better. In any case, both drivers have performed well enough to be P2 in the constructors and given the car they have had, that's still great for Ferrari. Next year with the reset and with different handling-cars, perhaps Lewis will get that rejuvenation he hoped to get with Ferrari when he joined them this season.
I agree. I would also think it would be unlikely to expect anything different next season if the same regulations continued, but considering cars are changing significantly, I am willing to give next year a shot as well.venkyhere wrote: ↑26 Jul 2025, 19:51bold text : we have been hearing these phrases since 2022. Funnily enough, Russell had two purple sectors - 1 and 3 - but was still way off the pace. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that before. This is because mercedes did the massively shallow wing settings - presumably because they made zero progress in the sprint - but, as you say, I don’t think Ferrari did the same. I think they were somewhat in the middle throughout the weekend tbh.evered7 wrote: ↑26 Jul 2025, 18:59Leclerc is up top on S1 and almost there in S2 as well.
Seems like they just got more out of the car through optimisation rather than changing any wing. Russell is way down in S2 compared to Leclerc.
I think Ferrari will be fine even if it rains tomorrow. Maybe Max might jump but shouldn't be a Silverstone repeat.
Since post Silverstone interviews, Lewis has been saying he is giving documents to the team to change the way some things are handled. It is kinda strange to hear something like this coming from him and not from Fred honestly.deadhead wrote: ↑26 Jul 2025, 20:56Did anyone catch this? What did they say..

charles about the meetings with elkann and other members of the team: "he (lewis) is preparing his points. i'm preparing my points, and then we are doing big meetings where we are both of us inside the meetings and and then we speak about those points that we want to improve. of course we are aligned with with everything together with the team and everybody is pushing in the same direction, so that there's no stress whatsoever."
charles about the document lewis made:
"i don’t think that this is very different to the team-mates ive had in my career in a way that we are all here to make the team better, and we are all doing this kind of documents in order to point out those points. so on that there’s nothing different.
however, obviously its a unique point of view and lewis had an incredible career, so yeah, these are things that we are looking closely [at].
but it didnt only start it now. i mean it starts from the first race where you have the first points where things are different and youve got to get used to and other things that you want to change and this is part of the process. so i don’t think there’s anything standing out now.
i think maybe its the first time he said it so that’s why it makes such a reaction, but its nothing particular to this moment."
Not the same but I remember years ago Leclerc started taking notes (in a notebook) after all sessions, something he took from Vettel who advised him to be diligent with it. Sometimes you can see him reading it before sessions even now. But he said while Vettel's were long and detailed his were disorganized and illegible to anyone else who saw themLuscion wrote: ↑26 Jul 2025, 21:09Charles is as well. iirc he talked about how he does his on a tablet cause hes too disorganized for notesMattLightBlue wrote: ↑26 Jul 2025, 21:02
