Whatever they do, the suspension department needs a serious shake up. This is something that was their strength before.
I mean, along with the ground-effect aero, the suspension type (from hydraulic to basic) also changed dramatically during these regulations. Whatever Merc had strength, it changed in this cycle.

George had a snap in T1, T3 and the final corner on his last Q3 run which left him half a tenth off pole.

It was in his grasp.....

How Mercedes were even remotely competing for pole position, Is just beyond me. They changed that rear suspension for nothing ](*,)

As much as I hate the FIA doing anything against the spirit of Formula 1, I think they should implement a TD where it completely bans tyre cooling during the summer break.
You do know that all teams have systems in place to control tyre temps. Right?

The FIA should not be punishing a single team for doing it better than the rest.

If next season Mercedes have the best car because they do some particular thing better than everyone else, would you also be calling for the FIA to ban it during the summer break? I think not.

Why should the FIA ban tyre cooling? Is up to the teams to figure it out by themselves or by poaching people from the dominant team.

Poaching people from the dominant team is negligible when you consider the next rule set, we won't see this technology.

I'm not saying to ban it due to the it being illegal or what not, because it's an extremely clever way what McLaren has came up with. But really, we just seen what happens if you take that supposed advantage away from them. The Grid is much more tightly packed. It also means the Mclaren drivers don't have to worked as hard to get the tyres in the necessary window like the others and don't have to be as attentive on tyre wear nor do they have to be as cautious in the wet. I know this an engineering sport, and no disrespect to Oscar and Lando because they're great drivers, but imagine if they didn't have the tyre advantage... would've been the most competitive championship ever between Verstappen, Russell, and the two Mclaren's.

Since tyre cooling is banned for next year, I'd say why not? Why figure out what's already a dead philosophy for the next set of regs?

What on earth was that? Kimi looked like Max just told him his dog died, and Max walks away with a pleased look. Wut.

Did Kimi get in Max’s way on track or something like that?
