For many reasons, next season will be an interesting life experiment for people.

Personally, I think Hamiltons strength is pushing a car to 102%. This generation of cars we have a crazy situation where you actually do better at 98%.

If the cars reward extreme driving next year, then will he do well again? Probably I’d guess.

Imo, The biggest issue for all the teams is how crap the current formula is. I can't wait for next year.

We currently have the closest grid there has ever been over a 4 year period and just because Lewis can't deal with it, it's the worst regulation ever....

Im unsure what season you have been watching. But the one I have seen is totally white washed by McLaren. It’s not even close.

To take one qualifying where they did a bad job and use that as an example (for anything) would be a touch silly.

Lots of people dislike Hamilton. Yourself included of course. But to downplay his stats or what he has done even as recently as 4 years ago before these silly cars would be daft.

These are not silly cars, two different constructors have won over 4 years, every team has gotten points and most teams have podiums. Driver talent means something because the cars are so close. That was not the case in other regulations.

Does age matter in racing? Of course, but I’m not sure where the crossover point is.

Yes, we all know what happened and how the rules were violated to try and make exciting TV.

But it’s only 4 years. You don’t go from being a world champion to 13th place driver in that time unless there are other factors.

I actually believe the very opposite is true with these cars and that car permitting, it is the drivers on the edge and sometimes beyond that are getting rewarded, these cars are very sensitive to setup & ride height, they are often twitchy because of it, to me that says these cars need the drivers to drive on the edge if they are going to be rewarded and maximise what the car has to offer, at least in qualification.

That said, I do think the 98% argument is valid during the actual race, but, that to me has nothing to do with the cars per se, that is all on tyre preservation and it is not going to change for 2026 or anytime soon.

In my opinion he was simply tilted, in Q2 there wasn't much of a gap to Charles, and Charles himself was a mile behind the McLarens, and was suffering from the changed conditions too, it was lucky that the conditions changed more in Q3.

He is ego-blown & is finding it hard to accept his current state, particularly because :

1. He has been imposing himself on the team - showing them white papers on management, comparing their tech against 'what I am used to' (engine braking ? I've never used before) and telling openly to the media how some things are 'unacceptable' etc. The soft signals he has been indicating to in the media, have the general demeanour of 'engineering is total disaster, I am the guy who is going to provide guidance'

2. He can't digest the fact that his muscle memory from decades of 'slam-the-brakes-with-steering-angle for as late corner entry as possible' , is difficult to get rid of ; and it pains him to see LeClerc (who doesn't have this problem) put the car on pole. It's a cruel reminder to him that if the car is in the right hands, it isn't that bad afterall.

Those McLarens can split their strategy so it will be very difficult, but on the other hand Norris is the gift that keeps on giving

The grid is only close because the darned GE car set-ups are so unpredictible for the engineers. Never mind the close grid though I'm still not convinced by the poor racing.

LH is still very sensitive on the brakes. Telemetry shows this is still the case. That hasn't changed.

His problems is he can't "feel" the Ground Effect platform.
