Yeah, i dont have any hope because was confirm they focus 100% on qualy pace. Probably tomorrow we will suffer like a hell on race pace.

Since 2024 we've always had a better qualifying car than race car. However, I'm very happy with today, just a tenth off pole (or realistically p3 if McLaren turned up but that's amazing).

They had good pace in Q1 and Q2. Q3 was not random.

What I've seen in his interview is not in that line (actually, he seems to think the contrary):

“No hicimos nada diferente a lo de Spa, solo que parece que nuestro coche se adapta mejor a un circuito que a otro, y esa es la cuestión, entender por qué se adapta mejor y en qué ventana trabaja mejor nuestro coche para usarla cada fin de semana”

He basically said that they did nothing to get this improvement, versus what they did last weekend. That's why I'm so surprised of that things you quoted. Did he say that??

He said the same thing you mentioned in English "that it's working, let's hope we can understand why".

In the interview he was very surprised. He said that they did nothing different to Spa, and also that nobody made new things, since it's very unprovable to do so in just a week. He concludes saying that he thinks it's just a track thing, not any changes in the car. And that they don't understand why, even with all the technology they have. So I don't find anywhere that sentences from Alo saying that the upgrades are encouraging. Is reliable that source you posted? In the interview, he seems to be quite distant to that mood, honestly.

Yeah, it's definitely a reliable source. Then even Alonso is somehow giving different feelings here and there. I don't know what to think. It's logical to think that they found something to achieve such a big performance step in just a week... But then Alo ensures in the interview that he honestly thinks it's just something related to the track that the whole lot of brains in the team are not able to understand...

There are several options I've opted for:

-losing the start to Stroll, compromising his race
-poor strategy or pit stop, resulting in him getting stuck behind a DRS train
-DNF

Or, and I kind of expect this, the car eats the tyres pretty quickly and as they're out of new sets they'll struggle with race pace.

Of course, there's also the positive scenario where they end the race from where they are starting.

No way he could keep Norris behind but 5th is still good for now. Verstappen is coming. I think 6th/7th is the best we can get depending on Hamilton. Let’s hope rain comes.

I think AM F1 is going for a 1 Stopper, which would mean pitting around Lap 25, while the 2 stoppers would pit around 16...we'll see.
