He just said pace was better compared to before, how that's how I interrupt it. after summer brake he is bit close to Charles then before, I think this is in context of that.

Perhaps you didn't read this sentence :

The PU isn’t frozen so loosing the leading engineer right at the beginning of the new regulations is worse case scenario since someone will have to keep developing it further and troubleshoot issues.

We have no clue when, exactly, these people are actually departing and joining their new team.

Barring an unusual scenario, I would expect PUs to roughly converge in performance after the first season.

But even if a contract expires, let's say at the end of the year, I'm pretty sure they can't start working on January at Audi.

And by the way it wouldn't make any sense to let a contract of the PU architect expire before running on track.

According to that article, Ferrari has acquired at least two engine specialists from Mercedes.
