What's next for Max Verstappen's GT plans? "Nurburgring 24 would be amazing"

Great news, but why is he in a 296 Ferrari, when Ford should be shoving a Ford GT down his throat. Shouldn't that have been part of the RB contract?

Max will make a very good brand ambassador for car manufacturers I am sure.
The sight of him driving the blue Porsche Cayman is enough to get VW all excited.

Yes. Cayman sales +100%. Netherlands +300%

Times were interesting. In the wet at some point only 10sec behind the top non detuned cars. In the race 20sec. They tested the detune on a sim and said it costs around 40sec. So the GT3 race in one week is very exciting to me to see if this speed is real.
When seeing the rare shots I was thinking about the Coulthard interview where he explained his problems on the rear wheel in medium speed corners. In contrast the Cayman in the shots seemed to really perfectly slip on the rear wheel. Is this maybe also key in non prototype classes?

The mid engine Cayman is one of the most balanced road production car in the world, even better than the rear engine 911.

Unfortunately, Porsche has decided to go full EV for Cayman next year. already stop producing ICE engine Cayman at the factory.

Is there some kind of score list of Max's drives at the Nürburgring? And the horsepower and weights of the cars?

That is the surprising point. How does he pull 20sec out of world class GT drivers that were competing on a car that is not difficult to drive? That were no beginners in this class. That puzzles me...is there some magic or are the numbers wrong?

Yep. Used car prizes of the 718 are crazy, selling not much lower than comparable 911s. That makes them even more price stable than the 911, which was never anticipated.
And as said...I fear the crazy Dutch will purchase everything that is left on the 718 now

Not really. I have mine from an article that analyzed several laps. The most impressive time was done in Q when the track was the most wet, so you do not see it in the best laptimes.

I suppose Verstappen prefers the Ferrari car. No wonder, unlike in F1, in GT cars Ferrari is still the best.

internet is awash with news that he 'might' have broken his own lap record in practice, but nowhere is it 'actual/confirmed' news. I keep getting newsfeed.

Max is on provisional pole by 12s. Lol

Track is wet, there won't be lap record.

Starts P3, not bad!

Edit saw bits of the lap, looks like he didn't improve S3 due to traffic. But Purple Green Yellow Purple Green Lap for P3, 3 seconds off Pole. So not bad over a 8 minute lap.

This will be in English and starts at 11:10 AM, CET.

The Nürburgring Endurance Series races on the legendary Nordschleife - the longest permanent race track in the world.
The 24-kilometre track leads through the middle of the Eifel forests, was built more than 90 years ago and leaves hardly any room
for driving errors. No wonder that former Formula 1 world champion Jackie Stewart once called it the "Green Hell".

🕞 Time Schedule:
➡ 11:40 - 12:00h: Formation lap
➡ 12:00 - 16:00h: Race (4 Hours)

The Power of Dreams!

Wonder what the odds are that Max leads at end of lap 1.

Looking forward to this race

P3-Not bad considering slightly damp conditions and a bit of bad luck with traffic in qualy.
