I've seen some journalists trying to push the narrative is 2nd fastest this year, which is a massive lie.
In fact, by removing McLaren completely from the championship, Ferrari would have won only 4 races out of 16. Moreover, Leclerc has less top 5 results than both Max and Russell.
Ferrari is P2 in the WCC only because Hamilton is performing significantly better than Tsunoda and Antonelli.

I think Leclerc will be in the hunt for pole in Baku - if he could do it when down on power in 2021, he can do it in 2025 in a car that was close to pole in terms of laptime in both Monaco and Monza (where Baku is something of a mixture) and took pole in Hungary. It's not a good all-rounder of a car, but this track ought to limit some of the problems while capturing some of the strengths (curb-riding, Leclerc's ability in short corners etc).

Winning will be another story. Leclerc's pace in the first half of Hungary gives me a modicum of hope but everything would need to be perfect and remains to be seen if they can keep the plank from wearing over the race distance while still optimising the one-lap pace. Still, I think this will be the best change of a win for the rest of the year (slightly ahead of Singapore and then Vegas).

Redbull is the second best car clearly. Its just too bad for them they refuse to run 2 equal cars. The merc and ferrari are quite close but yeah ferrari championship position is almost entirely due to the driver pairing.

What reputable journalist is saying that

They must be running some kind of agenda because I can't see how watching the races you could draw that conclusion.

When they were asked about it a few weeks ago Leclerc sounded more confident about Singapore than the other two. More specifically he said Singapore>Baku>Vegas.

Mclaren’s tire temperature “management” is simply impressive and I’m really curious if they can do it in Vegas as well but I don’t see why not

They had to do quite a bit lico in FP2 for brakes :?

Edit I did not realize they have new brake ducts this weekend. Might've been pushing hard in FP2 to stress test them which would make sense why we heard more Lico than normal.

Wow, so little conversation here despite Ferrari looking good on both long and short runs - surprising. At the end of the day, it's good that we keep our feet on the ground (to avoid disappointment) - Leclerc said that McLaren "were in another world, literally...Lando didn't finish some laps that were very, very impressive." I didn't personally notice that from the broadcast but it would be surprising if Piastri's long-run pace is actually representative.

Still, the car seems quick and that's encouraging for us to at least have some interest this weekend.

McLaren, RedBull and Mercedes have more in the pocket. Ferrari will be 4th on the grid at best.

Charles will change setup in FP3. Lewis seems comfortable on the brakes for once. The race will be about luck. I foresee many impacted barriers and safety cars.

If I could time travel to 2026 I would. I'm so tired of this disappointment.

Feels like the team isn't completely on it this weekend. Way too much session mismanagement and it doesn't seem like they were able to find the best setup judging by the car's inconsistent handling.

It’s because we all know Friday means nothing. This season is done, as today and every other weekend before it has proven. Many eyes are on 26’, hence the general lack of interest across the board.

Yet another disaster weekend for Ferrari. How many times have we been here this season..

Remember last year when we had podiums almost every week?

Don't know why Ferrari didn't pit lewis for the mediums, said he was struggling with the rears multiple times and asked to pit for mediums but was told no and to stay out...ah well.

Shame Charles couldn't fight for his 5th pole in a row at Baku

Woof. Not the best Saturday they could've hoped for.

Still don't understand the strategy for Hamilton in Q2.
