Track was worse for Lando no doubt. He had wheelspin out of every critical traction zone. Add to that the scrubbed tire, it was never going to be pole. But P2 was on the cards with a perfect lap. You have to make the best with the cards that are dealt to you and he couldn’t. Let’s see how the race pans out now, but anything other than a Max win would surprise me. It really depends how hard overtaking is though, I can see them getting stuck behind Mercedes and potentially Williams too so we might have the second McLaren podium-less race of the season here.
The biggest 'cork in the bottle' candidate are the VCARB, as they are one of the highest top speed merchants for this Baku GP. If they aren't hard to overtake, no one will be. It will be an overtake fest.

Norris has a free go at the title now lol. If he loses it after this, maybe he shouldn't be champion after all.

Could it possibly be a penalty for Piastri next race (grid drop) as he got no chance to serve his penalty for going early?

Yeah honestly Lando is just sleeping, I have no idea what he is doing. Just let Hadjar through at the start and then he doesn't even attempt to stay close to the car group on the front during the restart. Just gave the position to Leclerc for free. Pretty sure he has ruined his race now, need luck to get to the podium.

No no no, this isn't the car's fault let's be clear about that. If you let people just drive by you with zero defense on a track that is notoriously hard to overtake on, that's not on the car.

And idk what happened to Piastri this weekend, but that was a shocking error to make.

Yes I agree but the car just does not look fast today. Slower on the straight thats fair enough but even through the last 2 corners we are losing time to leclerc. So where are we faster today?

Not sure about the start but that crash by Piastri is showing he gets rattled as well. He dropped to the back and overdrove the car.

Doesn't look good so far, hopefully the pace improves as the fuel burns off.
