2025/2026 Hybrid Powerunit speculation

All that has to do with the power train, gearbox, clutch, fuels and lubricants, etc. Generally the mechanical side of Formula One.

well yes ... in concept
(when speed's reduced (enough) the friction brakes can idle and the regeneration can be all the rear braking)

but I don't think this (low-speed regen) is done in 2025
it's a too much trouble for too little benefit

in 2026 presmably the rear friction brakes are gone at around 165 kph
and below that regenerative rear braking is chasing an elusive 350 kW

a thousand times a second the rotor is timed to maintain synchronicity between rotor and stator regardless
ie wheel under-rotation is prevented automatically irrespective of the varying torque demands for power control
