but a least they have two drivers capable of the WDC and both can be described as genuine generational talents.
In no way, shape or form. lol
If Norris and Piastri are 'generational talents', then that term doesn't mean anything anymore. I mean, they had the fastest car last year and Max still beat them convincingly. Even this year, both have had far too many instances where they're simply not taking advantage of having a dominant car like a proper top talent would.

We have slept over the first third of the season, havent we?
If i would get the money to start my own F1 team, i would revive Arrows
From the FP2 fastest laps data, I could see very little difference b/w the McL39 and the RB21. There were only two datum points where I could see a difference :
1. Instead of the majority 100+/- kph slow corners, when the cars have to deal with 150+/- kph 'lower end medium speed' corners that aren't sharp, ie where there is some 'longer radius duration', the McL's rotation ability from the magic front end suspension, reigns supreme. The same goes for T18-T19 when the corner speed is 200+/- kph and it's long duration. The RB21 can't match the McL39 in such 'long corners' (which is the expected norm). With fuel load, in race conditions, this delta will be magnified.
2. When there is sudden, back-to-back quick direction changes, T11-T12, the RB21 has an edge, it's able to handle lateral pendulum weight transfer much better, Max isn't lifting at all through T12, while both McLarens are.
Of course, all the above, with the caveat assumption that engine modes and fuel loads are very similar.
Norris didn't put his lap together, probably because of so many red/yellow interruptions, nothing much to read into it, he would be stronger then Piastri on this track. If both teams keep the cars same for tomorrow, Quali could be a nailbiter - anyone of Norris/Piastri/Verstappen could be the pole sitter, nothing much to separate, based on today's data. Personally, I expect Norris to clinch pole by 0.1 delta.

Absolutely not. They were regularly not performing to the car's capabilities from quite early on. It's been a consistent thing most of the year. And last year....
This isn't what happens with 'generational talents'. Come on.
Thought so.
For arguments sake let’s leave Lando out of it because he can do no right.
How much better was Hamilton’s and Verstappens third season in F1 compared to Piastri?
How good would it have been had they sat in an MCL39?
Sebastian Vettel became world champion at age 23 in his third full season. Three years later he was a 4 time champion at the age of 26. Still, very few consider him a generational talent. Why? Because in truth he was “only” a very good driver who had a great car.
There are only 2 generational talents in this current grid. Verstappen and Alonso. But Alonso is already way too old, and past his peak. Leclerc and Russell are good, but they didn't prove enough yet. Piastri and Norris didn't prove anything either.
Thought so.

They would probably have been leading the championship since the second round too.

Different age, experience level and car performance so this discussion is useless.
Also offtopic.
lol.
Because the stats don’t favour Verstappen it’s off topic.
What does Hamilton, Verstappen, Alonso, Piastri, and Norris' status as potential "generational talents", specifically where they were in their third season (as opposed to their age 24 season), have to do with the 2025 Singapore GP? Other than the fact that they are all in the race.
You even stated " maybe not the correct topic . . ." before taking this thread further down this rabbit hole (". . . but who are the last 2 'generational talents', please").
