I wasn't born during the white and green days, but I've always seen Williams as blue and white plus whatever other colour they needed to add for sponsor recognition... Let's ignore the very short Winfield era shall we. But this livery throw back really does look better than the 50 shades of blue IMO. But hey I'm not on their marketing team with contract hoops to jump through for their various sponsors.
This.

Finally a proper Williams livery.

Great livery, and should be a massive reminder to the rule makers that livery in f1 is important to the fans- can’t believe how awful they have been with the weight saving bare carbon rubbish we’ve had to endure these last few years.

This absolutely should be Williams colours as they launch into what could be an exciting few years for them.

Sainz said they should keep the livery for the rest of the year. Hopefully they take that into consideration for this year and next.

I like it, though slightly ironic that they're basically paying tribute to a livery they ran whilst a works team for the main rival of their current engine supplier and we're sponsored by a company that now sponsors Ferrari lol

Double points in the sprint. Not a bad result.

Points definitely possible tomorrow if they get qualifying right.

Have to say, they've produced a very difficult car to predict at Williams. Aero efficient, good on its tires, but very prone to misfires in qualifying. It's clearly not able to handle combination turning and braking well as well as long corners, but the performance looked good in the race despite the damage the cars had.

Hats off to Albon for the first fastest lap since 2014 for the team. Added to a long list of team accomplishments for this season.

Vegas should be an overperforming track so they need to maximize points because they'll likely be near last at Qatar.

Have to say, Sainz has easily been the quicker driver over the second half of the season. If you were looking for a reason why Albon probably won't get to the front of the grid, his one lap pace is probably it. Otherwise he's a great driver.

Median qualifying gap

1st half: 0.139% to Albon (8-6 Albon)

2nd half: 0.440%( ) to Sainz (7-1 Sainz)

Despite the slow start to the season, Sainz clearly still has the pace he showed at McLaren and Ferrari vs Leclerc and Norris.

Also, very surprised that the Williams is still getting into Q3 despite the team having not received any upgrades since Belgium.

Incredible race by Sainz.

48 points scored since summer break. Probably should've been 60+.

No doubt - Sainz is an amazing driver.

Indeed. A brilliant move by Vowles to sign him up. Sainz has experience being in the lead pack, but his biggest asset is his 'game reading from the cockpit'

Very happy for the team.
For years they had very bad drivers… then Albon shows that having good drivers counts.

And now SAI is up to speed and delivering, a really good season and job done by Volwes to make this team solid again

Austin and Mexico are indeed painful. Such a no sense move, i still can’t understand. Lot of bad luck early in the season as well.

This is the Carlos Sainz that was the only non-RB winner of 2023, the first non-RB winner of 2024, and the last Ferrari race winner. He's one of the very best at seizing opportunity when the car isn't the best. Williams shouldn't have any podiums this year with this car. It isn't good enough for that.

There was talk of an experimental setup from Carlos… whatever it was clearly worked. But do we know what it was?

Impatience, pushing for results. Worked against him there, worked for him in other races. Hopefully next year, he won't feel that pressure knowing that Vowles can trust his abilities.
