It's not just Piastri. The team is imploding, throwing all the good work in the trash.

why is there so much concern about 'turned off development for 2025 too early' ?
The team has already won the WCC, that pays the bills and bonuses. Correct decision to focus on 2026.
If one of their drivers don't win the WDC, so be it - the blame is squarely on the drivers and race operations and pitwall and strategy etc... engineering have already delivered the car.
The MCL team is an excellent engineering team, and they deserve the WCC. I conjecture that the 2026 car with the merc engine will be head and shoulders ahead of any other team.

If the engineering team is the team’s biggest strength then they need to carry the team a bit more.
The same as how Verstappen carried Red Bull last season.

Oscar hasnt looked the same since he gave up P2 in Monza, he's feeling the pressure out there and Lando is slowly but surely chipping away at the once massive lead post Zanvoort and until he stops that momentum this pattern will continue.

It’s Piastri throwing the good work in the trash. He sh*t the bed in the sprint and quali. Lando is P2 and still in the running for the win. If the roles were reversed you’d be hammering Lando but now that it’s your darling Piastri it’s the team that is “imploding”.

There’s zero need for panic, McLaren hold all of the aces for the run in. Remember that Max has zero room for error- he knows this and is caution to the wind as the underdog.

A lot rests on him winning every race- I’m pretty certain that Mercedes will dominate Vegas and I’m pretty sure Mexico will not be a RBR track.

Probably feels worse today because we have away 6 and 7 points in the sprint with the collision.

Lando is unable to be champion. I don't believe he has what it takes to beat Max. After last year I just lost faith in him and I have been fanatically supporting him from the start.

The main issue for us Mclaren fans is it’s just one way traffic going against us right now, we just need to see that result somewhere, some how, any how to release the pressure.
We, just as much as the drivers aren’t used to this scenario.

I have to say though, it is a pity that we can’t just enjoy watching the boys continue to win all of the grand prixs and then it’s just a case of who wins the most, wins the title.
If one of them do get it over the line it’s like the forwards scoring a try in rugby- not with the flamboyance of a winger.

Just caught up with recent events. Absolute brain dead move from Piastri into T1, doing exactly what he cried about Norris doing in Singapore, but actually causing a double DNF. Good job. Then no pace in the Grand Prix qualifying. He needs to get his --- together if he wants any chance at all to hold onto his championship. If what we've been seeing from him lately is the same second half of the season slump he's had his two previous years, he can kiss that championship goodbye.

Relax, take a breath, cause we have to admit that since Zandvoord, when we wake up with a veeery comfortable lead, mr Piastri is on the back foot.
His main focus was Lando (remember when Tom Stallard informed him about Leclerc in Hungary and he said that he doesn't give a s**t on Leclerc, he wants to be in front of Lando). Eee, guess what, this strategy is not enough for this Championship.
So he needs to wake up if he wants to be P1 after Abu Dhabi.

You're one interesting roller coaster —even unbearable at times.

At this point in time, Lando seems more promising.

If it's a Lando WDC, good, as a pay back to how he carried us when it matterd at the second half of last year. But, at the end of the day, I just want a McLaren driver to win it.

I hope at least one Mclaren driver gets the WDC. If Norris proves to me he can do it and make me eat my words trust me I pray for it everyday. Until that happens from what I saw these last two years let me have my doubts.

I wouldn't bet a penny on Piastri's championship at this point. He's slower than Norris, slower than Russell, and especially slower than Verstappen. Just like last year Piastri was slow in the last 5-6 races, he doesn't like these kind of tracks.
