Lando needs to tidy up the first corners at the starts somehow.

He showed his teeth overtaking Leclerc at the end there- that was good to see
Early in the race a 5 second penalty with Hamilton right behind is a much bigger risk. Lando went all in with a bigger pace advantage relative to the first stint and was free to take more risks seeing Hamilton so far behind.

It was what you'd expect.

I still think Max would have won today, buy Lando would have had a chance to fight if Ferrari/Charles did not suddenly remember to turn up to an F1 race today....

But yesterday was really costly.

The car is fast, but lacks top speed. It also seems they have a bit problematic initial traction out of the corners.
If i would get the money to start my own F1 team, i would revive Arrows

Norris was on the dirty side of a very dirty track (nothing happened like rain or other series racing to help clean the track) and Leclerc was on softs which proved to be a much better race tyre than the teams thought. It’s not surprising that he had such a good start and first corner to get past Norris.

I wouldn’t put the blame on Norris for this start.

He got the job done though.

After this result Oscar needs to wake up before its too late, his form is nowehere near that of pre Monza :wtf:
Either its a sabotage from within or his first half performace was a fluke because of his team mates performace, Oscar looks to be a very ordinary driver since the second half of this year.
Something big is missing, has the car lost all the edge it had before the summer break, I find this difficult to understand.
Mclaren is looking like 3rd best car on the grid from the driving of both their drivers.

I’m not blaming Norris.
It just needs tidying up. Possibly starting on pole would help.

Norris did nothing wrong and everything right at the start. Leclerc was just on the faster tire at the clean side of the track.

I think Piastri just struggles a lot more when the car is difficult. So when McLaren nails the setup and tire life is amazing, Piastri does really well. But if the tire life is challenging (because setup is ---) then he becomes 2024 Piastri who could never match Norris in races.

Sure. He did the right thing overall. Too much to lose early on. Well measured race and he gains 8 on Oscar.

How it looks 3rd fastest? Norris was clearly faster than Ferrari?

Well done lando, tough fight for second and if not for the ferrari I think he could have challenge max overall.

A real nothing race from Piastri. Norris held up alot by Charles and yet hes still 21 seconds behind?

Onto Mexico next. I think lando is favourite for that one. Things are getting tighter by the race!

This race really reminded me of 2024. Piastri no where to be seen, no pace at all. Norris forced to fight Verstappen alone with other teams challenging him and beating Norris when Norris manages to beat Verstappen.

Yeah, I getting the same vibes... let's just hope we don't get the same WDC result.

Mexico… medium speed corners?

I know it’s not on Stella’s list of ‘McLaren tracks’
