I can't doom them today. The car was already compromised by the ride height. If the car was in the correct height it could have won today.
from where did you get the info about compromised ride height ? please point to the source.

Without the engine DNF and Canada crash/DNF Lando would be clear ahead.
You have to do the ifs, buts, and cuts for all drivers before knowing who would/could/should be ahead. More or less not worth any thought.
It doesn't turn.

They remained with the same set up as for the sprint, and since they did not finish any laps in it, they were not able to make the step forward as the others did in terms of set up since they did not get any real data from it.

Stella just confirmed that without the sprint data they didn’t fully maximise the parameters.

Like he said, McLaren did have the pace to win today without a fully optimised set up.
He did however say that’s Oscar’s pace was pretty poor- as we all saw.

Not for the freak mechanical failure. Norris would lead Piastri now and has shown better driving the last races. Never Norris has been beaten by Piastri like Piastri was beaten today.

So what system did the FIA quietly told them to remove/deactivate? This is not the same car that we saw not long ago, that car would win by 30 seconds today in this heat.

This car would have won without the crash in the sprint.

Isn’t it more like Red Bull have developed a flexi front wing mark 2 where as McLaren are still on the Spanish mark 1 spec?

Or how about Red Bull bringing nearly twice as many upgrades since the summer break and doing that thing they do- you know- like develop the car

This is a kind of wishful thinking.

Shouldnt they be like on the budget cap?

Well that is quite possible, but not with the kind of absolute domination it used to show in this kind of heat, that's my point.

Lando crashed in Canada, Oscar crashed in Baku.

Thing is even with how many bad performances they still haven't touched Piastri. The law of football says that if you are unable to score with all these chances you will recieve that goal in the end. Piastri won't be bad forever and that Red Bull won't be able to win every race.
Not true. Piastri's lead after Dutch GP was 104 points, 4 races later it's only 40. At this rate Max will be champion before Abu Dhabi.

Assuming that things continue like this but they usually never do.
