Floor upgrades earlier than I had hoped, but sounds like an optimization/modification job.

Also sounds like the engine cover upgrade is a modification job of the new spec, wider engine cover introduced at Singapore, but isn't just specific to Mexico like many teams' engine cover will be. It'll be useable at any other hot races (Qatar, Abu dhabi for instance)

That Monza floor unlocked so much performance it's insane. Reminds me of the floor they bolted on in 2022 on the final day of testing in Bahrain. They couldn't contain their smiles then. Hopefully they can smile now.

Technical team deserves so much .

That would be ideal. Let's hope Yuki for once can be between 3 to 4 tenths off Max. That will be very good progress. He might even be retained if he proves a capable second driver for the last 5 races.

Don't count your chickens before they hatch... FP2 will tell us, possibly it will take until end of FP3 to form a verdict.

The cooling stuff tends to be mexico specific. It is therefore planned well in advance and common for most teams. I've heard that the floor stuff is just CFD going straight to track as it's not a revolution, it's just refinement. The RB21 windtunnel model has been collecting dust for a while.

Sure but it's a refinement on the Monza floor. I'd be surprised if they put this to production without confirmation at Monza.

Also Monza floor worked better than expected so I hope this upgrade works better than expected as well.

The cooling louvres are Mexico specific, but my read is that the rest of the cooling update is not.

This may be the engine cover (minus louvres) that will be used in Brazil, Qatar, and AD.

Fabrega is saying that the cooling inlet (sidepod) has also been updated. That is not circuit specific.

The sidepod update is not directly stated in the document, but then there is an errant reference to it

Yes I did understand from the document that the changes are circuit specific cooling needs and the floor revision. My surprise is that they are going ultra-aggressive with the shape of the floor tunnel ('lowered uoper floor surface') - unsure whether it is fore or aft of the venturi neck, apart from a 'sidepod revision' that is mentioned as well. I rather expected some edge wing changes only, to clean-up/modify the edge vortices. This is like a 'main' change. Hence my comment.

I sincerely hope RB ditch these ancient air to air intercoolers for next year. It’s a big packaging penalty and clearly the system doesn’t perform to the same standard as what McLaren uses. Weight seems to be the only benefit, but it can’t be much.
