I bet to differ. Landos long run pace on the soft was very good.

I'm not seeing any qualifying pace though and considering how hard is to make a pass, pole is mandatory. Unless Mclaren isn't pushing for qualifying pace yet but at this point I doubt it.

Both drivers made mistakes on their quali sims but I still think Max is favourite for pole as always- I want him to get pole!

Well pole at Mexico isn't particularly valuable due to long run to t1

I’ll be Max’s biggest fan tomorrow cheering him to another pole  :D

It doesn't really matter how long the run is to T1. Max knows how to start well and defend. There's no way he gets passed once he gets that pole and definitely not on a faster car. An 1-2 for our Mclaren boys should have been mandatory.

Mclaren seems to be as good as Red Bull on the first part of the track, losing a lot of time on the second part of the track and slightly better on the third part of the track. Tomorrow on FP3 they have a lot of work to do.

Impressive race pace from Lando in FP2. If that's a genuine advantage over the field he's sitting very pretty. Still question marks over qually pace, but not seen a representative time yet to judge. Not concerned.
