It's a tire issue. If they can get the tires in the window, it will be quicker. Big IF
It's a very difficult task. We have to see.

I agree with Jolyon Palmer this isn't purely engine related, Max was way off Norris in sector 2 & 3 and those are not particulary power sensitive. Also Max was complaining about lack of grip front & rear.

Red Bull will have to do some quick analysis and adapt the setup as best as they can for qualifying. Even if the race pace has improved, dirty air from a Ferrari or a Mercedes will hurt him. At this stage 3rd place looks like the best outcome Red Bull can realistically hope for.

Norris looked great yesterday and even better today. He will win very easily.
Understood, calm down, just wait it out. Nothing is certain. I am sure Max has still something to say, could it be sandbagging also, its just practice. :)

S1 isn't engine power. They are bad on the curb in T2/T3. All the time is lost on the run from T3 to T4 due to not being able to ride the curb. The others drive out of T3 much quicker.

Qualify within top 3 is a must and I'm pretty sure he'll do that.

You cannot keep escaping reality though :) Optimism can only you take you so far. The car is not good in the corners. Sandbagging alone cannot explain the gap.

Do you think it's the new floor?

If Yuki is still on the old floor and only a tenth off Max's time, would the old floor be better to go with?

Tsunoda is only 1.8 tenths slower than Verstappen. Usually there's 7 tenths or more difference between them, so there has to more performance.

You think the bollard affected them? I saw all top 4 teams were pretty much cutting those corners in FP2 and it seemed like the bib was hitting the bump of the kerb. Now I think they're forced to "jump" on the bump of the kerb with the tire. Might be unsettling for some of the cars.

Maybe they sacrificed some one-lap speed for better race pace. Starting one or two places behind Lando is not a bad thing, the slipstream is massive into T1. What I am saying, its better to start P2, P3 and then having better race pace, then to just get pole and having bad race pace. Its a compromise.

Listen to this interview by Max from yesterday. He said exacly the same thing.

They won't be able to follow here. Only Mclaren can follow others.

Yeah, if the car is not compliant at least try to pole and pray. Also track was much hotter than FP2 I suppose.

They opened the cooling more. I don't have the picture but there's another opening in the yellow space. Not good.

Max knows he can win from P1 P2 or P3 and lando is expert at bottling a pole at T1..
