Norris doesn't have to win another event now. He just needs P2. I think that's championship done but still a nice drive and looking forward to winning more races. I think there are some track specific things that favored Mclaren here.
I mean if Piastri has any aspirations, he has to do something at some point. He will have to take risks.
Piastri can have all the aspirations that he wants. If he's half a second off the pace of Lando, they won't be on the same piece of tarmac again...
He's better in Brazil and Qatar, he has to go for it, esp. if he qualifies just behind Lando. There's more pressure on Lando now too, as he's the leader, let's see how he does in the next couple of races.

That second stint was just Max magic. I take that P3. After that first stint I had p5, p6 in mind or worse. Max actually gained 4 points in WDC. And on this weekend we had a setup not working, car sliding around. A solid ending of this sunday. And hope they can collect the data why we struggled here. We have 116 points remaining, 4 races and 2 sprints. Passing Leclerc would of course mean 3 points more, but in terms of WDC the difference is not massive. Let me explain, if the gap was 33 or 36 it would still mean the same if Max wins all 4 races, and Lando finish in second place in this races is not enough. Max is still one Mclaren DNF away from to be right in the fight, we are still an outsider. But we have a possibilty of rainy Brasil incoming and low-drag favourite Las Vegas incoming. The situation is the same as before this race, we need some luck. But I can be happy for 14 days now, because its still not over. :D

How is that a VSC lol. Even the marshalls couldn't have put it in a better place.

Absurd, ridiculous decision, he wasn't even 15 seconds in a dangerous position.

Credit to Sainz for being so race aware and not wanting to screw over everyone.

It was nicely parked and it should have stayed there until the end. It was perfectly protected. The FIA needs to work to avoid these situation that make the sport looks ridiculous.

I might be quite silly, but I was happy when VSC came. Leclerc would fight pretty agressively, and the risk of a crash would be quite big with 1-2 laps to go.

Leclerc fights hard, but fairly. I don't think there would have been a crash.

It would have been a classic DRS pass imo, and no fight after, the pace difference was too big.

The 3 points were worth the risk of course as the season will run out soon. By the way, I apologise to the team regarding the strategy, I did not think they could make it work.

Without the Sainz yellow I am not sure that Max makes the pass, but with the yellow he closed the gap and I am confident he would have just breezed by Leclerc on the last lap.

Yeah but if you look at other things, Max was quite lucky that in the middle of his soft stint all drivers ahead of him boxed. If this didnt happen he would probably finish worse, because he would lose some valuable seconds while going through the field. Its ok, lets take this result.
