Someone talked about rain in Brazil. If it rains expect the two Mclaren drivers to dominate. They haven't lost a rain race this year. Just to let you know.
For 7-9 November the forecast is dry and 30 degrees air temperature.

So that is 40 at track temperature. Which is great for Mclaren.

Norris was very impressive this weekend. The pace was disgusting.
Mighty good wasn't it? I just don't see Norris losing this WDC, he is doing so good, even after that painful DNF in Zandvoort, he keeps pushing.
I don't see it either. The problem for Piastri is that Norris is never slow. There will never be a day that Oscar puts 30 seconds of raw pace on Lando. This looks like the 2023 pace deficit.

I don't think Oscar is handling this well. Everyone week he keeps saying the pace is "good", the "pace is there". Is the pace in the room with us? He's in denial.
Whenever I have had things to say against Lando it has always been about inconsistencies and his mellow way of racing. He is so risk-averse, even in situations where he could have had so much more. It kind of plays with your nerves a bit when you know that the car is good enough to do more sometimes. I think Lando would have never been as aggressive as Max was today for example, if he was in his position.

But pure pace alone, I have always defended the guy. On a good day, when everything goes his way, Lando is a force to be reckoned with. He just needs to make those good days a little bit more common.

That sums it up nicely. Both one lap pace and race pace are very good for Norris, it's just a lack of consistency from time to time and he doesnt always deliver his own best in qualifying which hurts him in the race. But if he takes WDC he fully deserved it this year. Ive see worse drivers take it!

Not sure if it was discussed here but you think that pitting Piastri onto softs to get past the Ant was a mistake when they saw Ant pitting ? Should they have done the opposite of Ant? McLaren is trying to keep Max behind, they're not really racing Merc.

I think you aren't allowed to bring your pitcrew out into the pitlane if you don't intend to pit. So they made the call to box but Mercedes also boxed.

I can think of half a dozen times merc faked pit stops by sending the crew out.

They can fake it once.

Here McLaren first said box to overtake (which means do opposite of car ahead) but then they changes it to box box, meaning box regardless of car ahead.

Not sure why, maybe he was being undercut or realized he was losing too much time on mediums.

When was the last time McLaren got upgrades? Piastri says he now has to drive the car a completely different way, and Norris won by the biggest margin of the season: 30 seconds. Odd.

I think championship is done now for PIA.

He got a 2010 Webber season, and he will probably miss his only opportunity to be world champion.

Also, it shows that Max is still a threat but realistically not.

Of course NOR needs to avoid crashes but now he is on the golden road to the title

Well, I think "box to overtake" is a different animal. They now showed it four times this season and always faked, no matter what the car ahead is doing. It is an intentional fake, never intended to stop. By the rule this is a slam dunk penalty, but not really to judge.
I wonder which tires they bring out...is it even the correct set? McLaren is usually very careful with things, I wonder if they would drop the tire temp of the actual set to use on these fake stops.

Is the following really that far fetched?

Brazil - Max 25pt. Lando 18pt
Vegas- Max 25pt. Lando 12pt
Qatar- Max 25pt. Lando 18pt
Abu - Max 25pt. Lando 18pt

No sprints included thats a 34 at swing for max with 36pts being the gap. Its not over for me.
Lando needs 1 more win and that won't be easy as redbull will be very strong for the remainder plus Max could get nasty and start trying to engineer dnf's by forcing off etc.

I said yesterday too, but with hindsight, I still don’t think they should have pit Oscar a second time.

Max would have gone through no doubt, but I don’t think Ollie would have caught and overtaken him for 4th.

But Ollie doesnt stop if Oscar doesnt stop, neither does Russell, maybe not Kimi, as Mclaren made it obvious.

Oscars struggles to get past a Merc really gave little other options.
